Thomas Price (1840–1906) was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, Queensland Legislative Assembly. Price was the member for the Electoral district of Wide Bay, Electoral District of Wide Bay from November 1878 to September 1883. Personal life He was born in 1840 in Ilfracombe, Devonshire, England to Thomas Price and Elizabeth (née Banter). He died on 4 April 1906 in Albion, Queensland, Albion, Brisbane, Queensland. Electoral District Of Wide Bay
Wide Bay was a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Queensland. History Wide Bay was one of the 16 original electorates of 1859; it centred on Maryborough but also included the coastal strip from the Mooloolah River, north to Bustard Head near Gladstone. However, in 1864, the Electoral district of Maryborough was established and the Wide Bay electorate contracted towards the south of Maryborough but still include the rural areas around Maryborough. Initially Wide Bay was a single member constituency, but from 1878 to 1888 it became a two-member constituency, after which it reverted to a single member. Tiaro is a rural town and locality in the Fraser Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Tiaro had a population of 758 people. Geography The town is on the Mary River. It is situated on the Bruce Highway south of Maryborough and north of the state capital, Brisbane. Timber and farming are the predominant industries in the Tiaro area, although the town's position on Queensland's main coastal highway also brings economic benefits. History The town takes its name from the pastoral run name in the 1840s. It is believed to be a corruption of the Kabi word (Dauwabra dialect) meaning ''dead trees''. The Tiaro War Memorial commemorates those who served in World War I. It was unveiled on 25 April 1921 ( ANZAC Day) by Sir Thomas William Glasgow. The Legislative Assembly of Queensland is the sole chamber of the unicameral Parliament of Queensland established under the Constitution of Queensland. Henry Edward King
Henry Edward King (9 June 1832 – 5 February 1910) was a politician in colonial Queensland, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland 1876 to 1883. King was born in Mount Coote, Limerick, Ireland, son of John Wingfield King and his wife Alicia, ''née'' Coote. King was member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland for Wide Bay 12 August 1870 to 13 July 1871 and from 4 October 1871 to 12 November 1873; for Ravenswood from 9 December 1874 to 14 November 1878 and for Maryborough from 15 November 1878 to 17 August 1883. King was Secretary for Public Works and Mines in the Macalister Ministry from November 1874 to May 1876. Two months later he was chosen Speaker of the Assembly, and occupied the chair of the House till July 1883. He was an unsuccessful candidate for Maryborough at the 1888 colonial election.
