Thomas Fry (priest, Born 1718)
Thomas Fry, D.D. (1718β1772) was an English priest and academic. He was president of St John's College, Oxford, from 1757. Fry was born in Bristol and entered St John's in 1730. He graduated BA in 1736, and MA in 1740. He was ordained in 1744. At St John's he was logic reader from 1737 to 1740; dean of arts from 1740 to 1744; natural philosophy reader from 1745 to 1746; college preacher from 1746 to 1747; bursar from 1748 to 1749; dean of divinity from 1750 to 1754; and vice-president from 1755 to 1757. He died intestate in Bristol on 22 November 1772. Thomas Fry (1775β1860) was an English cleric and academic. Life His father was Peter Fry, of Compton Bassett, Somerset. He matriculated at Oriel College, Oxford in 1792, graduating B.A. in 1796. s:Alumni Oxonienses: the Members of the University of Oxford, 1715-1886/Fry, Thomas (2) He was ordained deacon in 1797, by George Pretyman Tomline, and priest in 1798, by Edward Smallwell. At this period he was living in Axbridge, and impressed Hannah More with his maturity and boldness as a preacher. He took his M.A. at Lincoln College, in 1798. Fry had a position as tutor at Lincoln College, and curacies at Abingdon and Hanwell. He gave up his fellowship at Lincoln to become chaplain at the Lock Hospital Chapel in London, the successor to Thomas Scott and Charles Edward de Coetlogon who resigned in 1802. Thomas Charles Fry (16 April 1846 in Sydenham, London, Sydenham β 10 February 1930 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Lincoln) was an English Anglican clergyman, Dean of Lincoln from 1910 to 1930. Biography Thomas Charles Fry was born on 16 April 1846 and educated at Bedford School and Pembroke College, Cambridge. He was a career schoolmaster, teaching at Durham School and Cheltenham College and briefly becoming headmaster of Oundle School. Resigning that job after illness, he held a curacy before his appointment as Head teacher, Headmaster of Berkhamsted School in 1887. Nektar (German for ''nectar'') is an English progressive rock band formed in Hamburg, West Germany in 1969, by guitarist and lead vocalist Roye Albrighton, keyboardist Allan "Taff" Freemon, bassist Derek "Mo" Moore, and drummer Ron Howden. History 1969β1973: Early years The band formed in Hamburg, West Germany in 1969. The founding members were Englishmen Roye Albrighton on guitars and lead vocals, Allan "Taff" Freeman on keyboards, Derek "Mo" Moore on bass, Ron Howden on drums and artists Mick Brockett and Keith Walters on lights and "special effects".
