Thomas Arthur Dean (21 November 1920 – 4 June 2004) was an English first-class cricketer. Dean was born at Gosport in November 1920 and grew up in South Africa, where he played for the Wanderers Cricket Club in Johannesburg. He returned to England in 1938, at the age of 18, aboard the and shortly after his arrival he secured a trial with Hampshire County Cricket Club. Dean made his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Somerset County Cricket Club, Somerset at Dean Park Cricket Ground, Bournemouth in the 1939 County Championship, one of three matches he played in that seasons Bournemouth Cricket Week. Tom Dean (born 1947) is a conceptual artist, known for his work in a diverse range of fields, among them sculpture, installation art and printmaking. In 1999, he represented Canada at the Venice Biennale and in 2001, he received the Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts. The Globe and Mail in 2001 called him "the epitome of the artists' artist". Life and career Dean, born in Markdale, Ontario, attended Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University) in the 1960s. Thomas L. Dean (born 1950) is an American computer scientist known for his work in robot planning, probabilistic graphical models, and computational neuroscience. He was one of the first to introduce ideas from operations research and control theory to artificial intelligence. In particular, he introduced the idea of the anytime algorithm and was the first to apply the factored Markov decision process to robotics. He has authored several influential textbooks on artificial intelligence. He was a professor at Brown University from 1993 to 2007, holding roles including department chair, acting vice president for computing and information services, and deputy provost. Thomas William Darnton Dean (born 2 May 2000) is a British competitive freestyle swimmer. He is a double Olympic gold medalist, winning gold individually in 200 metre freestyle and as part of a team in 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He has represented Great Britain at the European Junior Championships and the European Championships. ''Stand Up Australia'' was an Australian comedy TV program locally produced by The Comedy Channel from 2006 to 2008. It was hosted by Cameron Knight, and featured four Australian or international comedians on each one-hour show. Henkes Islands
The Henkes Islands are a group of small islands and rocks in extent, lying southwest of Avian Island, close off the southern extremity of Adelaide Island, Antarctica. The islands were discovered by the French Antarctic Expedition, 1908–10, under Jean-Baptiste Charcot, and named by him for one of the Dutch directors of the Magellan Whaling Company at Punta Arenas. Charcot applied the name to the scattered rocks and islands between Cape Adriasola and Cape Alexandra, and the name was restricted to the group described by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UKAPC) following definitive mapping by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) in 1961 and the British Royal Navy Hydrographic Survey (BRNHS) in 1963.
