''This Time It's Personal'' is the second studio album by American contemporary R&B group Somethin' for the People, released September 23, 1997 via Warner Bros. Records. Co-produced and primarily written by the group, it was their first album to chart on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, peaking at number 154. The album also reached number 33 on ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard''s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, R&B chart. Three single (music), singles were released from the album: "My Love Is the Shhh!", "Think of You" and "All I Do". "My Love Is the Shhh!" was the group's list of 1990s one-hit wonders in the United States, only hit on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number four in 1997. In addition to original songs, the album contains a cover version, cover of "She's Always in My Hair" by Prince (musician), Prince. Somethin' For The People
Somethin' for the People was a contemporary R&B group from Oakland, California, who scored several hits in the US in the late 1990s. History The group was founded in 1990 by Curtis "Sauce" Wilson and Jeff "Fuzzy" Young, both from Oakland, California, along with Los Angeles native Rochad "Cat Daddy" Holiday. The group recorded demos and shopped them around Los Angeles, and signed with Capitol Records, who released their debut in 1993. The song 'Take it Easy', which was first written for SWV was covered by R&B singer Joyce Wrice 20 years later. WhoSampled is a website and app database of information about sampled music or sample-based music, cover songs and remixes. History Nadav Poraz founded the site in London, England in 2008, as a way to track musical samples and cover songs. Mobile apps were released in 2012 and 2014 for iPhone and Android, respectively. The website's database is user-generated and reviewed by moderators before the content goes live. As of 2022, the site's most sampled track is the Amen break from the Winstons. In 2015, the site added support for film and television clips. The following year, it partnered with Spotify and introduced a six degrees of separation-inspired game that tracks relationships between artists, producers, and their tracks. Reginald Noble (born April 17, 1970), better known by his stage name Redman, is an American rapper, DJ, record producer, and actor. He rose to fame in the early 1990s as an artist on the Def Jam label. He is well known for his collaborations with his close friend Method Man, as one-half of the rap duo Method Man & Redman, including their starring roles in films and sitcoms. Jamal Phillips (born April 26, 1979), known professionally mononymously as Jamal and formerly as Mally G, is an American rapper and record producer. He started his career as one-half of rap duo Illegal, the rap act formed by Dallas Austin in the early 1990s. Ewanya "Puff" Johnson (December 10, 1972 – June 24, 2013) was an American R&B singer-songwriter. Born in Detroit, she emerged on the music scene with her singles " Forever More" and " Over and Over", which experienced commercial success in Europe and Australia.
