''This Film Is On'' is a video feature compiling all of R.E.M.'s '' Out of Time''-era promotional videos, as well as several recorded for this release alone. It was released on video on September 24, 1991, and on DVD format on August 22, 2000, both on the Warner Bros. label. The title is a line from the song, "Country Feedback." The 50-minute release features promotional videos to the band's four singles from ''Out of Time'' ('Losing My Religion', 'Shiny Happy People', 'Near Wild Heaven' and 'Radio Song') in addition to videos to the album tracks 'Low', 'Belong', 'Half A World Away' and 'Country Feedback'; an acoustic performance of 'Losing My Religion' from ''The Late Show''; and a live acoustic performance of 'Love Is All Around' from ''MTV Unplugged''. The DVD (common abbreviation for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc) is a digital optical disc data storage format. It was invented and developed in 1995 and first released on November 1, 1996, in Japan. Reg Presley
Reginald Maurice Ball (12 June 1941 – 4 February 2013), known professionally as Reg Presley, was an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer with the 1960s rock and roll band the Troggs, whose hits included " Wild Thing" (#1 on the Hot 100 on 30 July – 6 August 1966) and "With a Girl Like You" (#1 on the UK Official Singles Chart on 4–11 August 1966). He wrote the song "Love Is All Around", which was featured in the films ''Four Weddings and a Funeral'' and ''Love Actually''. Career Presley, whose stage name was given to him in 1965 by the ''New Musical Express'' journalist and publicist Keith Altham, was born in Andover, Hampshire. Love Is All Around (The Troggs Song)
"Love Is All Around" is a song recorded by English rock music, rock band the Troggs, featuring a string quartet and a 'tick tock' sound on percussion, in D-major. Released as a single in October 1967, it was a top-ten hit in both the UK and US. "Love Is All Around" has been cover version, covered by numerous artists, including R.E.M., with whom the Troggs subsequently recorded their 1992 comeback album ''Athens Andover''. R.E.M.'s cover was a B-side on their 1991 "Radio Song" single, and they also played it during their first appearance at MTV's ''MTV Unplugged, Unplugged'' series that same year. KRS-One
Lawrence "Kris" Parker (born August 20, 1965), better known by his stage names KRS-One (; an abbreviation of "Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone") and Teacha, is an American rapper from New York City. He rose to prominence as part of the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions, which he formed with DJ Scott La Rock in the mid-1980s. Peter Alan Care (born 28 April 1953) is an English director of music videos, commercials and film. He has directed music videos for Cabaret Voltaire, R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen, Roy Orbison, Depeche Mode and New Order, amongst others. Biography Care began his directorial career as a film student at the Sheffield School of Art (in the North of England). Upon graduating, he set up the Sheffield Independent Film Company, with funding from the Arts Council and Channel 4. Catherine Elizabeth Pierson (born April 27, 1948) is an American singer, lyricist, and founding member of the B-52's. She plays guitar, bass and various keyboard instruments. In the B-52s, she has performed alongside Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider, Ricky Wilson, and Keith Strickland. Michael Edward Mills (born December 17, 1958) is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer who was a founding member of the alternative rock band R.E.M. Though known primarily as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist of R.E.M., his musical repertoire also includes keyboards and occasional lead vocals.
