Taluk
A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluka, or taluk) is a local unit of administrative division in some countries of South Asia. It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. The terms in India have replaced earlier terms, such as '' pargana'' (''pergunnah'') and ''thana''. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, a newer unit called mandal (circle) has come to replace the system of tehsils. Siby Varghese better known by his stage name Kailash, is an Indian actor who works in the Malayalam Cinema. He has acted in more than 50 films. John Abraham (11 August 1937 – 31 May 1987) was a Malayali Indian filmmaker, short story writer and screenwriter. His film ''Amma Ariyan'' (1986) was the only south Indian feature film to make the list of "Top 10 Indian Films" of all time by British Film Institute. Babu Thiruvalla is an Indian film producer, director, and scriptwriter who works in Malayalam films. Abraham Mulamoottil is a Catholic priest, an author, a teacher, an innovator, and a philosopher. He obtained his PhD from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Abraham Thomas Kovoor (10 April 1898 – 18 September 1978) was an Indian professor and rationalist who gained prominence after retirement for his campaign to expose as frauds various Indian and Sri Lankan "god-men" and so-called paranormal phenomena.
