Edward Sloman
Edward Sloman (19 July 1886, London - 29 September 1972, Woodland Hills, California) was an English silent film director, actor, screenwriter and radio broadcaster. He directed over 100 films and starred in over 30 films as an actor between 1913 and 1938. Post-cinema work After directing over 100 films and starring in over 30, Sloman made his last film in 1938 and in 1939 left the film industry to enter radio broadcasting as a writer, producer and director. Unfortunately the majority of Sloman's works have been lost. However, his 1927 Universal silent ''Alias the Deacon'' starring Jean Hersholt is held by the Library of Congress. He died in Woodland Hills, California in 1972 aged 86. Maurice Murphy (actor)
Maurice Murphy (October 3, 1913 – November 23, 1978) was an American film actor.Pitts, p.177. Initially a child actor, he graduated to playing older roles, often in action films. His brother Jack Murphy also became an actor. Early film appearances included in '' Stella Dallas'' and as the young Beau Geste in the 1926 film. Margaret Brainard Hamilton (December 9, 1902 – May 16, 1985) was an American actress. She was best known for her portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West, and her Kansas counterpart Almira Gulch, in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's film '' The Wizard of Oz'' (1939). A former schoolteacher, she worked as a character actress in films for seven years before she was offered the role that defined her public image. In later years, Hamilton appeared in films and made frequent cameo appearances on television sitcoms and commercials. She also gained recognition for her work as an advocate of causes designed to benefit children and animals and retained a lifelong commitment to public education. Helen Parrish
Helen Virginia Parrish (March 12, 1923 – February 22, 1959) was an American stage and film actress. Career Parrish was born in Columbus, Georgia. She started in movies at the age of 4, getting her first part playing Babe Ruth's daughter in the silent film '' Babe Comes Home'' in 1927. She was featured in the ''Our Gang'' comedy shorts and sometimes played the lead character as a child, co-starring with some of the great female stars of the day. In her teens she made herself known as a kid sister. During this time she also starred opposite Deanna Durbin in several of her films, playing a jealous, spiteful rival.
