Five Star
Five Star (also styled as 5 Star) are a British pop group, formed in 1983 and comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris and Delroy Pearson. Between 1985 and 1988, Five Star had four top 20 albums and 15 top 40 singles in the UK, including the top 10 hits " System Addict" (1986), "Can't Wait Another Minute" (1986), " Find the Time" (1986), " Rain or Shine" (1986), " Stay Out of My Life" (1987) and "The Slightest Touch" (1987). They won the 1987 Brit Award for Best British Group. Biography 1980s The five-piece group of siblings from Romford were masterminded by their father and manager, Buster Pearson, who modelled them in the style of the Jackson 5. He was a former recording artist and session musician who had worked with Wilson Pickett and had set up Tent Records Ltd in 1982. Rock The World (Five Star Album)
''Rock the World'' is the fourth album by the British pop group Five Star. It was released in 1988 and reached #17 on the UK charts. Two singles from the album were UK Top 30 hits: " Another Weekend" and " Rock My World". Two further singles from the album, " There's a Brand New World" and " Let Me Be Yours", failed to reach the Top 40. Following its release, the album was awarded a Silver disc for selling more than 60,000 copies in the UK. The group adopted a new image for the release of the album, mimicking the leather-clad look from Michael Jackson's "Bad", released the previous year. An expanded version of ''Rock the World'' was released by Cherry Pop Records in April 2012. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Tent
A tent () is a shelter consisting of sheets of fabric or other material draped over, attached to a frame of poles or a supporting rope. While smaller tents may be free-standing or attached to the ground, large tents are usually anchored using guy ropes tied to stakes or tent pegs. First used as portable homes by nomads, tents are now more often used for recreational camping and as temporary shelters. Denise Pearson
Denise Lisa Maria Pearson (born 13 June 1968), sometimes credited as Deniece Pearson, is an English singer-songwriter. She was the lead vocalist with the British pop/ R&B group Five Star, which comprised herself and her four siblings. The group was created and managed by their father, Buster Pearson, in 1983. The group officially disbanded in 2001, though partial reunions have occurred since. Career with Five Star As well as being lead singer, Pearson was also the most prolific composer of the group. Buster Pearson (4 May 1941 – 14 October 2012), born Stedman Pearson in Jamaica, was a musician and producer, and father and former manager of British pop group Five Star. He also owned and ran a number of record labels, most notably the 1970s reggae label K&B Records and the 1980s R&B/dance label Tent Records.
