Theodore Robinson
Theodore Robinson (June 3, 1852April 2, 1896) was an American painter best known for his Impressionist landscapes. He was one of the first American artists to take up Impressionism in the late 1880s, visiting Giverny and developing a close friendship with Claude Monet. Several of his works are considered masterpieces of American Impressionism. Training and early career Robinson was born in Irasburg, Vermont. His family moved to Evansville, Wisconsin, and Robinson briefly studied art in Chicago. In 1874 he journeyed to New York City to attend classes at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League.. In 1876 he traveled to Paris to study under Carolus-Duran and at the École des Beaux-Arts, with Jean-Léon Gérôme. He first exhibited his paintings at the 1877 Salon in Paris, and spent the summer of that year at Grez-sur-Loing. Theodore Robinson (16 February 1866 – 4 October 1959) played first-class cricket for Somerset in 10 matches between 1884 and 1894. He was born at Beaminster in Dorset and died at Backwell, Somerset. Family and background Robinson was a member of an entrepreneurial family who had interests in paper-making and printing in Bristol and London and in a wide range of goods in Singapore. The family company of E. S. & A. Robinson owned a large printing and paper-bag manufacturing site at Bedminster in Bristol. The extensive Robinson family had estates at Flax Bourton and Backwell, south of Bristol, and at the age of 13 in 1879 Theodore was part of a team of "Eleven Robinsons" that played a match against the Backwell Cricket Club at the Flax Bourton ground. This event was repeated in various forms until 1964 and included a match against an all Grace team in 1891. The Eleven Robinsons consisted of Theodore and five of his brothers, augmented by five cousins, all descende ...

Theodore Douglas Robinson
Theodore Douglas Robinson (April 28, 1883 – April 10, 1934) was an American politician from New York who served as the Assistant Secretary of the Navy from November 1924 to 1929. He was a member of the Roosevelt family through his mother and was the eldest nephew of President Theodore "T.R." Roosevelt, Jr. (1858–1919). As an Oyster Bay Roosevelt, Theodore was a descendant of the Schuyler family. Early life Theodore Douglas Robinson was born on April 28, 1883, in New York City to Douglas Robinson Jr. and Corinne Roosevelt. He attended St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire and graduated from Harvard University in 1904. Theodore Henry Robinson
Theodore Henry Robinson (1881–1964) was a biblical scholar who became professor of Semitic languages at University College, Cardiff. Life Robinson was born in Edenbridge, Kent, on 9 August 1881 to the Baptist minister W. Venis Robinson and his wife Emily Jane. After studying at St. John's College, Cambridge, Regent's Park Baptist College (then still in London) and Göttingen University he taught Hebrew and Syriac at Serampore College, Bengal. In 1915 he was appointed lecturer in Semitic languages in Cardiff, and in 1927 professor. He served as the secretary of the Society for Old Testament Study from 1917 to 1946, and was twice president (1928, 1946). In retirement he lived in Ealing, where he died on 26 June 1964.
