''The World of Wodehouse'' is a comedy television series, based on the Blandings Castle and Ukridge stories written by P. G. Wodehouse. The series, which followed the television series ''The World of Wooster'', was shown on BBC Television. It consisted of two series, the 1967 ''Blandings Castle'' series (six episodes) and the 1968 ''Ukridge'' series (seven episodes). Apart from one or more extracts from one episode of ''Blandings Castle'' ("Lord Emsworth and the Girl Friend"), all episodes of both ''Blandings Castle'' and ''Ukridge'' are lost. Meriel Forbes
Meriel Forbes, Lady Richardson (13 September 1913 – 7 April 2000) was an English actress. She was a granddaughter of Norman Forbes-Robertson and great-niece of Sir Johnston Forbes-Robertson. After making her stage debut with her father's touring company in 1929 she progressed via provincial repertory to the West End, where she appeared continually from the 1930s to the 1970s. She married the actor Ralph Richardson in 1944, and the couple regularly appeared together in London, and on tour in the UK, continental Europe, Australia and North and South America. She appeared in fifteen films between 1934 and 1969. Jeeves is the highly competent valet of a wealthy and idle young Londoner named Bertie Wooster. Penshurst Place is a historic building near Penhurst, Kent, south east of London, England. It is the ancestral home of the Sidney family, and was the birthplace of the great Elizabethan poet, courtier and soldier, Sir Philip Sidney.
