The World Of Aden
''The World of Aden'' is a 1995 role-playing game supplement published by West End Games for ''MasterBook''. Contents ''The World of Aden'' is a setting designed for use with West End Games' Masterbook and D6 systems, and is based on a background developed by SSI and used in two PC games, '' Thunderscape'' and '' Entomorph''. Shane Lacy Hensley wrote the world book, which was later converted into a tabletop roleplaying game by West End Games. When SSI sold off its assets, the World of Aden was not included. Shane Hensley received an official transfer of the intellectual property from the former president of SSI, and eventually sold it to Kyoudai Games, who publishes the current version of the tabletop RPG (as of February 2022). West End Games (WEG) was a company that made Board game, board, Role-playing game, role-playing, and wargaming, war games. It was founded by Daniel Scott Palter in 1974 in New York City, but later moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The ''D6 System'' is a role-playing game system published by West End Games (WEG) and licensees. While the system is primarily intended for pen-and-paper role-playing games, variations of the system have also been used in live action role-playing games and miniature battle games. ''World of Aden: Thunderscape'' is a swords & sorcery role-playing video game for MS-DOS compatible operating systems developed by Strategic Simulations and published by Mindscape in 1995. The game is based on the world described in the fantasy trilogy of the same name. Plot The world has recently and drastically changed from medieval swords-and-sorcery to a mixed renaissance and Industrial Revolution tech level. Flintlocks and muskets are the best weapons an adventurer can hope for, but there are extremely expensive, very powerful machine guns called "storm cannons". Shane Lacy Hensley is an author, game designer, and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment Group and is a resident of Gilbert, Arizona. Career Shane Lacy Hensley was from Clintwood, Virginia, and began playing ''Dungeons & Dragons'' after he discovered the game through a series of comic-strip ads that were running in comic books in the 1980s. Hensley later sent West End Games an unsolicited '' Torg'' adventure he had written, which was soon published as ''The Temple of Rec Stalek'' (1992). ''Bloodshadows'' is an original pulp adventure gamebook by West End Games that was published in 1994. It was the first setting book for WEG's MasterBook game, which used rules elements used earlier in their TORG and Shatterzone games.
