Millard Webb
Millard Webb (December 6, 1893 – April 21, 1935) was an American screenwriter and director who directed 20 films between 1920 and 1933. His best-known film is the 1926 silent John Barrymore adventure ''The Sea Beast (1926 film), The Sea Beast'', a version of ''Moby Dick'', costarring Dolores Costello. Webb also directed the early sound Florenz Ziegfeld produced talkie ''Glorifying the American Girl'' released by Paramount Pictures, Paramount in 1929. In 1927 he directed ''Naughty but Nice (1927 film), Naughty but Nice'', produced by John McCormick (producer), John McCormick and First National Pictures. His active years were from 1916 to 1933. He was married to Lydia Stocking (1918–1923). Mary Eaton married Webb in 1929, but they separated. Matthew Betz (September 13, 1881 – January 26, 1938) was an American film actor. Betz was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1881. Following an extended career in the U.S. Cavalry, Betz spent eight years in Vaudeville. His first stage play was ''Ellis Island''. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1914 and 1937. He died in 1938. Herbert Evans (actor)
Herbert Evans (16 April 1882 – 10 February 1952) was an English film actor. He appeared in over 180 films between 1916 and 1952. Biography Evans started his acting career in 1914 at the World Film Company in Fort Lee, New Jersey. His performances include the Earl of Glenheather Castle in The Three Stooges comedy ''The Hot Scots'' and its remake '' Scotched in Scotland'', the well-meaning but clueless butler Wilkes in ''Vagabond Loafers’’ and in the ''Our Gang'' short ''Shrimps for a Day''. In addition to his work in short subjects, Evans appeared—often uncredited—in such films as ''Casablanca'', '' Strangers on a Train'', '' Annie Get Your Gun'' and ''Song of the Thin Man''. He also had bit roles in the Shirley Temple vehicles ''Curly Top'' and ''Wee Willie Winkie''. Evans died on 10 February 1952 shortly after filming for '' The Brigand'' was completed.
