''The Wild, Wild World of Jayne Mansfield'' is a 1968 mondo documentary film chronicling the travels of actress Jayne Mansfield. It was directed by Charles W. Broun, Jr., Joel Holt and Arthur Knight. Synopsis ''The Wild, Wild World of Jayne Mansfield'' began production in 1964 and continued shooting sporadically through 1967 as the budget was limited. The film consists of Mansfield visiting various locations throughout Europe and the United States. The European footage, shot in Rome and Paris, features Mansfield observing Italian roadside prostitutes, running from the paparazzi and attending the Cannes Film Festival. She is also filmed visiting "unusual" European locations such as a French naturist community, strip clubs, a gay bar and a massage parlor. Dick Randall (producer)
Dick Randall (born Irving Reuben; March 3, 1926 – May 14, 1996) was an American film producer, screenwriter, actor and assistant director. He was known for his involvement in the production of exploitation films in Italy, Hong Kong, Spain, the Philippines and England, and his career covered a wide array of genres including mondo documentaries, erotica, giallo, martial arts and slasher films. Personal life A rotund cigar-smoker, Randall was born on March 3, 1926, in the Catskill Mountains, New York. He was married to New Orleans-born singer Corliss Theresa Randall (née Anselmo), who collaborated with him on several films. Something Weird Video is an American film distributor company based in Seattle, Washington. They specialize in exploitation B to Z films, particularly the works of Harry Novak, Doris Wishman, David F. Friedman and Herschell Gordon Lewis. Inspiration The company is named after Lewis' 1967 film '' Something Weird'', and the logo is taken from that film's original poster art. History Something Weird Video was founded in 1990 by Mike Vraney in Seattle. He was inspired by his teenage job as a theater projectionist. His love for the obscure films that never made it to video prompted him to transfer hundreds of ancient reels of film to VHS videotape and DVD. Mickey Hargitay (January 6, 1926 – September 14, 2006), born Miklós Karoly Hargitay, was a Hungarian-American actor and the 1955 Mr. Universe. Jayne Mansfield's Pink Palace was a mansion bought and refurbished with pink paint and fixtures by American actress Jayne Mansfield in 1957. The mansion was demolished in 2002. History In November 1957, shortly before her marriage to Mickey Hargitay, Mansfield bought a 40-room Mediterranean-style mansion formerly owned by Rudy Vallée at 10100 Sunset Boulevard in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. Much of the investment to buy the house came from the $81,340 ($ in dollars) she inherited from her maternal grandfather Elmer Palmer.
