The Wallflowers
The Wallflowers are an American rock music, rock solo project of American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jakob Dylan. The Wallflowers were originally a roots rock band formed in Los Angeles by Dylan and guitarist Tobi Miller. It has undergone several personnel changes, but has remained centered on Dylan. The band signed with Virgin Records to release their The Wallflowers (album), debut studio album (1992), which, despite critical praise, failed to chart and served as their only release with the label. Following the success of their 1996 single "6th Avenue Heartache," the band signed with Interscope Records to release their second album, ''Bringing Down the Horse'' (1996), which spawned their signature song, "One Headlight." ''Glad All Over'' is the sixth studio album for American alternative rock band The Wallflowers. It was released in October 2012 by Columbia Records, and charted at No. 48. The band revealed the title of the album on July 12, 2012, and they released their first single, "Reboot the Mission" for free on July 24, 2012. On October 1, 2012, it was announced on the band's website that "Love Is a Country" would be the second single. Reception The album received a score of 73 out of 100 from Metacritic, indicating generally positive reviews. Rebel, Sweetheart
''Rebel, Sweetheart'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band the Wallflowers, released on May 24, 2005, by Interscope Records. It debuted and peaked at number 40 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and served as the band's final release with Interscope. Its lead single, "The Beautiful Side of Somewhere", peaked at number five on ''Billboard''s Adult Alternative Airplay chart. Reviews of the album by music critics were sparse, but generally positive. The album has sold approximately 116,000 copies, according to ''Billboard'' and Nielsen Soundscan. Red Letter Days (album)
''Red Letter Days'' is the fourth album by The Wallflowers, released by Interscope Records on November 5, 2002. The band's first guitarist, Tobi Miller, served as the album's producer alongside Bill Appleberry. The album was met with moderate critical and commercial reception, peaking at number 32 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Despite featuring some profanity (heard in "Everybody Out of the Water"), ''Red Letter Days'' does not carry a Parental Advisory sticker. Background The album peaked at number 32 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Red Letter Days'' was the first Wallflowers record that featured Jakob Dylan playing a majority of the lead guitar parts. ''Breach'' (stylized as ''(Breach)'') is the third studio album by the Wallflowers. The album's first single was "Sleepwalker", the video of which poked fun at lead singer Jakob Dylan's " rock star" status following the success of '' Bringing Down the Horse'' (1996). Guests on the album included Elvis Costello, who performed vocals on "Murder 101". Despite positive critical reception, the album failed to match the commercial success of ''Bringing Down the Horse'', seeing a commercial decline. ''(Breach)'' peaked at number 13 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and received gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Sleepwalker”, however, peaked at 73 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Its members consist of record labels and distributors that the RIAA says "create, manufacture, and/or distribute approximately 85% of all legally sold recorded music in the United States". Interscope Records is an American record label based in Santa Monica, California, owned by Universal Music Group through its Interscope Geffen A&M imprint. Founded in late 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field as a $20 million joint venture with Atlantic Records of Warner Music Group and Interscope Communications, it differed from most record labels by letting A&R staff control decisions and allowing artists and producers full creative control.
