The second season of ''The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series), The Twilight Zone'' aired Fridays at 10:00–10:30 pm (EST) on CBS from September 30, 1960 to June 2, 1961. There are 29 episodes. Intro This season debuted the theme music by Marius Constant most often associated with ''The Twilight Zone'', replacing the The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series) (season 1), first season music written by Bernard Herrmann. The graphics used for the intro were a hybrid of the two sets of graphics used for the first season, with some slight modifications to Rod Serling's narration. For the first three episodes Serling's narration went as follows: "You're traveling through another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop—''The Twilight Zone''." Noah Keen
Noah Keen (October 10, 1920 – March 24, 2019) was an American film and television actor. Early life Keen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio,and was raised there with his brother Buddy and also had a sister, Helen Keen. He fought in World War II as a bombardier in the Army Air Force and received a Purple Heart during this time. Career Keen made many guest appearances in television series such as ''The Twilight Zone'' in the episodes " The Arrival" and " The Trade-Ins". Beverly Joanne Linville (January 15, 1928 – June 20, 2021) was an American actress. She later taught at the Stella Adler Academy, Los Angeles. She is best known as a Romulan Commander on ''Star Trek: The Original Series''. Biography Early life Linville was born in Bakersfield, California, on January 15, 1928. Fred Steiner
Frederick Steiner (February 24, 1923 – June 23, 2011) was an American composer, conductor, orchestrator, film historian and arranger for television, radio and film. Steiner wrote the theme music for ''The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show'' and ''Perry Mason''. While Alexander Courage composed the theme music for the original '' Star Trek'' TV series (TOS), Steiner's significant contributions to the franchise included composing more of the incidental music for TOS than any other composer, as well as scoring or conducting the music for 29 of the show's 79 episodes. Elliot Silverstein (born August 3, 1927) is an American film and television director. He directed the Academy Award-winning western comedy ''Cat Ballou'' (1965), and other films including '' The Happening'' (1967), '' A Man Called Horse'' (1970), ''Nightmare Honeymoon'' (1974), and ''The Car'' (1977). Opening narration As the episode starts, a group of Civil War soldiers are walking down a road as Rod Serling narrates: After the first dialogue between the Sergeant and Lavinia Godwin, Rod Serling resumes: Plot At the end of the Civil War, a Confederate Army Sergeant, walks down a road aided by a wooden crutch. Larry Gates
Lawrence Wheaton Gates (September 24, 1915December 12, 1996) was an American actor. His notable roles include H.B. Lewis on daytime's ''Guiding Light'' and Doc Baugh in the film version of ''Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'' (1958). He played the role of H.B. from 1983 to 1996 and won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the 1985 awards. (He had previously played the role of District Attorney Eric Van Gelder on ''Guiding Light'' in 1977 and 1978.) Ernest Lamont Johnson Jr. (September 30, 1922 – October 24, 2010) was an American actor and film director who has appeared in and directed many television shows and movies. He won two Emmy Awards.
