The Triumph Of Hercules
''The Triumph of Hercules'', the 1964 film, was one of many Italian sword and sandal epics during the 1960s craze. Originally titled ''Il Trionfo di Ercole'', the film was directed by Alberto De Martino. Hercules was portrayed by Dan Vadis. The film was released internationally as ''Hercules vs the Giant Warriors'', and also as ''Hercules and the Ten Avengers''. Plot Hercules is called upon to fight seven golden giants summoned by the Dagger of Jae, sister of Juno ( Hera), who dislikes Hercules "for certain family reasons." Hercules also fights to protect his princess love, but matters are complicated by her evil relative Milo, who has murdered her father the king but has tricked her into thinking it was someone else because she trusts him too much. Alberto De Martino
Alberto De Martino (12 June 1929 – 2 June 2015) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Born in Rome, De Martino started as a child actor and later returned to the cinema where worked as a screenwriter, director and dubbing supervisor. De Martino's films as a director specialised in wellcrafted knock-offs of Hollywood hit films. These films were specifically created films in Western, horror and mythology genres which were developed for the international market. ''The Daily Telegraph, The Telegraph'' stated that his best known of these film was probably ''The Antichrist (film), The Antichrist''. Nazzareno Zamperla (25 April 1937 – 19 March 2020) was an Italian actor and stuntman. Career Born in Treviso into a circus family, Zamperla came to Rome in 1949 and worked primarily in the 1950s and 1960s as a stunt performer. His focus was on the sword and sandal films. In the 1960s and 1970s, he transitioned into appearances as an actor in front of the camera, and his focus shifted to Spaghetti Western productions, where he was also known under the name of Nick Anderson, while also continuing working behind the camera as a gun master. Zamperla's brother Rinaldo has also appeared in movies.
