''The Treasure'' () is a 2015 Romanian film directed by Corneliu Porumboiu, starring Toma Cuzin, Adrian Purcărescu and Corneliu Cozmei. It tells the story of two young men who search for lost treasure. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prix Un Certain Talent prize. Corneliu Porumboiu
Corneliu Porumboiu (; born 14 September 1975) is a Romanian film director, screenwriter, and film producer. Life and education Corneliu Porumboiu was born in Vaslui, Vaslui County, Romania. He is the son of a former Romanian language teacher and a former football referee , currently a businessman. Between 1994 and 1998 he attended the faculty of Management at ASE University Bucharest. In 1999, he started studying film directing at the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography Bucharest which he graduates in 2003. With his graduation short movie, ''A trip to the city'', he gets prize II in the ''Cinefondation'' section at ''Cannes International Film Festival''. 2015 Cannes Film Festival
The 68th Cannes Film Festival was held from 13 to 24 May 2015. Joel and Ethan Coen were the Presidents of the Jury for the main competition. It was the first time that two people chaired the jury. Since the Coen brothers each received a separate vote, they were joined by seven other jurors to form the customary nine-juror panel. French actor Lambert Wilson was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. The Palme d'Or was awarded to the French film ''Dheepan'' directed by Jacques Audiard. On winning the award Audiard said "To receive a prize from the Coen brothers is something pretty exceptional. I'm very touched". The festival poster featured Hollywood star and Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman, photographed by David Seymour.
