The Trap (1913 Film)
''The Trap'' is a 1913 American silent short drama film directed by Edwin August, produced by Pat Powers, and starring Murdock MacQuarrie, Pauline Bush and Lon Chaney. The film is now considered lost. Chaney would later appear in an unrelated film of the same name in 1922. Plot A jealous girl, Jane, puts paint on her fiance Lon’s overcoat and becomes excited when she finds traces of the paint on another girl’s waist. But it develops that Lon’s brother Chance had worn the coat in the meantime, and she is pacified after an explanation. But later, Chance's wife Cleo finds traces of the paint on Jane's dress and accuses Chance of being unfaithful to her. All is explained in the end. The neutral zone trap (often referred to as simply the trap) is a defensive strategy used in ice hockey to prevent an opposing team from proceeding through the neutral zone (the area between the blue lines) and to force turnovers. Description The strategy is generally used to level the playing field for teams that are not as offensively talented as their opponents, although the trap can also be used by teams simply looking to protect a lead late in the game. Dan Billany (14 November 1913 – disappeared 20 November 1943) was an English novelist. Biography Billany was born and raised in Hull. He joined the Labour League of Youth and later the Hull Branch of the Socialist Party of Great Britain, but was expelled from the latter in 1933 for his involvement in an internal dispute. He later joined the National Unemployed Workers' Movement. Billany received a degree in English from the University College of Hull in 1937. Biography Christine Harris was born in Mile End, South Australia in 1955. In 1992 Harris' first book was released, entitled ''Outer Face'' which was a collection of 14 of her short stories. She has since released numerous other short stories and released three other collections. Harris has also had published over ten novels including three series, written seven poems and released a picture book and two anthologies. Ronald Alfred Goodwin (17 February 19258 January 2003) was an English composer and conductor known for his film music. He scored over 70 films in a career lasting over fifty years. His most famous works included ''Where Eagles Dare'', ''Battle of Britain'', ''633 Squadron'', Margaret Rutherford's Miss Marple films, and ''Frenzy''. Born in Plymouth, Devon, England, Goodwin learned to play the piano and trumpet from the age of five which allowed him to join the school band. When he was nine, the family moved to Harrow, London, where he attended Willesden County School and Pinner County Grammar School, in Middlesex. From there he went on to study the trumpet in London at the Guildhall School of Music.
