''The Sunday Edition'' is a television programme broadcast on the ITV (TV network), ITV Network in the United Kingdom focusing on political interview and discussion, produced by ITV Productions. The show was hosted by Andrew Rawnsley and Andrea Catherwood. The live studio show continued the tradition of live political programming on ITV at the weekend and featured the traditional "long format" interview as well as incisive debate by key players in politics, the arts and business. The programme included an ''ITV News Summary'' at the beginning and end of the programme. Andrew Rawnsley
Andrew Nicholas James Rawnsley (born 5 January 1962) is a British political journalist and broadcaster. A columnist and chief political commentator for ''The Observer'', he has written two books on New Labour. Early life Rawnsley was born in Leeds. He was educated at Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby and later on a scholarship at Rugby School and read history at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, gaining a first-class Honours degree. He was a columnist for the newsletter of the Cambridge University Social Democrats during 1982–83. He was also editor of ''Stop Press'', the Cambridge University newspaper of the day, and won the Guardian Student Journalist of the year award in 1984. Andrea Catherwood
Andrea Catherine Catherwood (born 27 November 1967) is a Northern Irish television presenter and journalist. Early life Andrea Catherwood was born and raised in Belfast where her mother, Adrienne McGuill, was an announcer and newsreader at Ulster Television, from 1959 to 1969 and also presented ''The Romper Room'' from 1964 to 1969 as Miss Adrienne. Adrienne Catherwood was appointed an MBE in 2004 for her work with the charity Action Medical Research. Andrea was educated at Strathearn School in Belfast. Her broadcasting career began aged 16 when she joined the BBC in Belfast as a co-presenter of a youth current affairs programme, for which she won BBC Northern Ireland's Young Presenter of the Year award. ITV (TV Network)
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. ITV was for four decades a network of separate companies which provided regional television services and also shared programmes between each other to be shown on the entire network. ''Peston on Sunday'' was the flagship political discussion programme on British television network ITV, which was broadcast live on Sunday mornings from 10 am and rebroadcast after the ''ITV Weekend News'' on Sunday evening. The programme was presented by Robert Peston, the Political Editor of ITV News, and featured discussions with politicians and public figures on the major news events of the week alongside analysis and social media reaction.
