The Standard (TV Series)
''The Standard'' is a television series. Produced by BBC Scotland in 1978, it was shown on BBC1. The series dealt with an ailing Scottish newspaper – the eponymous ''Standard'' – and the attempts to reverse its declining fortunes by its team of journalists and administrators. Only one series of thirteen episodes was made. BBC Scotland (Scottish Gaelic: ''BBC Alba'') is a division of the BBC and the main public broadcaster in Scotland. It is one of the four BBC national regions, together with the BBC English Regions, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Northern Ireland. Its headquarters are in Glasgow, it employs approximately 1,250 staff as of 2017, to produce 15,000 hours of television and radio programming per year. BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. It is the corporation's flagship network and is known for broadcasting mainstream programming, which includes BBC News television bulletins, primetime drama and entertainment, and live BBC Sport events. It was launched on 2 November 1936 as the BBC Television Service and was the world's first regular television service with a high level of image resolution. Patrick Malahide
Patrick Gerald Duggan (born 24 March 1945), known professionally as Patrick Malahide, is a veteran British film, television and theatre actor, author and producer, known, amongst other things, for his roles as Inspector Alleyn in ''The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries'', Detective Sergeant Albert “Charlie” Chisholm in the TV series ''Minder'', Balon Greyjoy in the TV series ''Game of Thrones'' as well as the big screen in a number of international films. Colette O'Neil
Mary Irene Colette Ellis ( McCrossan, 18 November 1935 – 11 July 2021), better known by the stage name Colette O'Neil, was a Scottish actress, noted for her various roles on British television. Life and career O'Neil was a semi-regular cast member of ''Coronation Street'' in the mid-1960s as Ruth Winter, and also made frequent guest appearances in series such as ''Z-Cars'', '' Dixon of Dock Green'', ''Adam Adamant Lives!'', ''No Hiding Place'' and '' Softly, Softly''. Tom Watson (actor)
Thomas Welsh Watson (21 March 1932 – 18 August 2001) was a Scottish-born stage, television and film actor. Early life Watson was born on 21 March 1932 at Auchinleck, Ayrshire, Scotland. His family later moved to Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, and he studied at the Hamilton Academy, where he excelled in amateur dramatics. Career Following National Service with the Royal Scots, Watson joined the Rutherglen Repertory, a semi-professional theatre company. In 1956 he joined the Byre Theatre in St Andrews, Scotland, before moving on to Perth Repertory Theatre. There he met his future wife, the actress Joyce Bain. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics.
