The Silent Forest (2022 Film)
''The Silent Forest'' (German: ''Schweigend steht der Wald'') is a 2022 German film directed by Saralisa Volm in her feature directorial debut and based on a 2013 German book of the same name by Wolfram Fleischhauer, who also wrote the film's screenplay. The story revolves around a trainee forester who notices parallels between a murder in the forest and the mysterious disappearance of her father twenty years ago. The film was shot in Weiden in der Oberpfalz over 25 days, in April and May 2021. It premiered at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival on 16 February 2022, in the Perspective on German Cinema (Perspektive Deutsches Kino) section of the festival. Saralisa Volm (born 24 June 1985 in Hechingen, West Germany) is a Germans, German actress, famous, among other things for her starring role in ''Finale'', a film by . Volm grew up in Freising, where she also went to high school. Part of her schooling was at the Gabriel-von-Seidl-Gymnasium Bad Tölz. In 2011 Volm also featured fully nude in graphic unsimulated sex scenes in the crowd funded German film Hotel Desire. Henriette Confurius (born 5 February 1991) is a German actress known to international audiences for her role in the Netflix sci-fi television series ''Tribes of Europa''. Life and career Henriette Confurius' father is German-Dutch writer Gerrit Confurius, her mother is a Dutch theatre actress, and she has two brothers, Lucas and Carl, who are also actors. Robert Stadlober (born 3 August 1982) is an Austrian actor and musician. His sister is Anja Stadlober, also an actress. Life and career Robert Stadlober was born on 3 August 1982 in Friesach in the Austrian province of Carinthia, and grew up in Puchfeld in the Steiermark (Austria) and in Berlin (Germany). As a child he worked as a voiceover artist for several films and he acted in different TV productions and motion picture films also. August Zirner (born 7 January 1956) is an American-Austrian actor, who starred in over 60 film productions. He is one of the most popular actors in Germany. 72nd Berlin International Film Festival
The 72nd annual Berlin International Film Festival, usually called the Berlinale took place from 10 to 20 February 2022 in person. On 15 December 2021 the first film of the festival was announced. The festival opened with François Ozon's drama film ''Peter von Kant''. Isabelle Huppert was awarded Honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement on 15 February 2022 at the Berlinale Palast award ceremony. Her film by Laurent Larivière, ''À propos de Joan'' was also screened. The awards were presented on 16 February 2022 truncating the festival by 4 days.
