The People of South Ossetia for Peace ( os, Цӕгат райгуырынц Хуссар Ирыстон, ka, სამხრეთ ოსეთის ხალხი მშვიდობისთვის) movement was the opposition party and political movement in South Ossetia which was formed by the ethnic Ossetians who had been formerly members of the secessionist government in Tskhinvali and outspoken critics of de facto separatist regime in Tskhinvali, headed at that time by Eduard Kokoity. Members The organization was co-founded by Dmitri Sanakoev, former defence minister and then prime minister of breakaway South Ossetia for several months in 2001 when the region was run by de facto President Lyudvig Chibirov. Along with the other former members of the secessionist government, Sanakoev formed an opposition movement to Kokoity and his separatist agenda. Akhalgori
Akhalgori ( ka, ახალგორი, os, Ленингор Leningor) is a town in Georgia, (in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region according to the official administrative division of Georgia). The name Akhalgori is the original historical name of the town used by the Georgians and officials, whereas Leningori is the name given to the city in the Soviet era and used by the South Ossetians. The town is situated on the banks of the River Ksani, height above sea level - 800 m. South Ossetia, ka, სამხრეთი ოსეთი, ( , ), officially the Republic of South Ossetia – the State of Alania, is a partially recognised landlocked state in the South Caucasus. It has an officially stated population of just over 56,500 people (2022), who live in an area of , on the south side of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, with 33,000 living in the capital city, Tskhinvali. Lyudvig Alekseyevich Chibirov ( os, Цыбырты Алексейы фырт Людвиг ''Tseberte Alêksêye fert Lyudvig'', ka, ლუდვიგ ჩიბიროვი, russian: Лю́двиг Алексе́евич Чи́биров; born November 19, 1932 in Tskhinvali) was the Chairman of the Parliament and later, following inaugural elections the first President of South Ossetia.
