Runners (botany)
In biology, stolons (from Latin '' stolō'', genitive ''stolōnis'' – "branch"), also known as runners, are horizontal connections between organisms. They may be part of the organism, or of its skeleton; typically, animal stolons are external skeletons. In botany In botany, stolons are stems which grow at the soil surface or just below ground that form adventitious roots at the nodes, and new plants from the buds. Stolons are often called runners. Rhizomes, in contrast, are root-like stems that may either grow horizontally at the soil surface or in other orientations underground. Thus, not all horizontal stems are called stolons. Plants with stolons are called stoloniferous. A stolon is a plant propagation strategy and the complex of individuals formed by a mother plant and all its clones produced from stolons form a single genetic individual, a genet. Morphology Stolons may or may not have long internodes. The leaves along the stolon are usually very small, but in a ...

The Runners (song)
''Simple Forms'' is the third studio album by New Zealand indie electronic band The Naked and Famous. It was released on 14 October 2016 by Somewhat Damaged in partnership with Kobalt Label Services. "Higher" was released as the album's lead single on 8 July 2016. Critical reception Matt Collar of AllMusic commented that ''Simple Forms'' is "less overtly bombastic than the group's previous work" and " ere's a tenderness to the arrangements that feels straightforward and uncluttered", concluding, "Ultimately, if there is a nuanced sophistication to the band's work on ''Simple Forms'', it feels genuine and hard-won." Jaymz Clements of '' Rolling Stone Australia'' wrote, "At times, ..it feels like the Naked and Famous are playing musical catch-up, as ''Simple Forms'' struggles to move beyond place-holder synth-pop like 'Water Beneath You'. But when Xayalith and former partner Thom Powers team up on the sparkling 'My Energy' and 'Last Forever', their taut, dynamic atmosphere s ...

The Runners (Urban Wall)
''The Runners'' was an outdoor mural by architect James McQuiston located on the east side of the annex to the Barnes and Thornburg Building (originally the downtown Indianapolis Woolworth's location) at 7 E. Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The mural occupied the east wall of this five-story commercial building. The mural was the result of a 1975 contest sponsored by the Urban Walls Task force of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee and the Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation. Description The mural, which was created using acrylic paint, depicts children at play on a hill as seen through a series of white arched doorways or windows. A fire in 1975 destroyed a building that was adjacent to the mural site; according to the label near the bottom of the mural, "The three-tiered design of the mural was inspired by the architectural structure of the building that burned, and is a whimsical study of color and motion." The mural occupied appr ...

Like other parts of the global clothing industry, manufacture of shoes is heavily concentrated in Asia with nine in ten shoes produced in that region. Contemporary sneakers are largely made from synthetic materials, and the materials and manufacturing process produce, on average, about of CO2 emissions. Some companies are trying to substitute more sustainable materials in their manufacture. About 90% of shoes end up in landfills at end of life.
