The Rose Of Kildare
''The Rose of Kildare'' is a 1927 American silent film, silent romance film directed by Dallas M. Fitzgerald and starring Helene Chadwick, Pat O'Malley (actor), Pat O'Malley and Henry B. Walthall. An Irish singer arrives at the gold mining town of Kimberley, Northern Cape, Kimberley in South Africa, where she encounters a former lover who left County Kildare, Kildare to seek his fortune. County Kildare ( ga, Contae Chill Dara) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Leinster and is part of the Eastern and Midland Region. It is named after the town of Kildare. Robert Carroll Nye (October 4, 1901 – March 17, 1974) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 50 films between 1925 and 1944. His most memorable role was Frank Kennedy, Scarlett's second husband, in ''Gone with the Wind''. Biography Nye was born in Akron, Ohio. His mother, Myra Nye, was the club editor of the ''Los Angeles Times''; his father, W. P. Nye, was postmaster in Covina, California. Nye attended Covina, California, schools and the University of California at Los Angeles and later became a reporter and radio editor with the ''Times'' like his mother. Ena Jessie Gregory (18 April 1907 – 13 June 1993), also known as Marian Douglas, was an Australian-American actress who achieved fame in Hollywood in the 1920s. Childhood Ena Gregory was born Ena Jessie Gregory to Arthur and Jessie Gregory in St. Leonards, New South Wales and grew up in Manly.
