''The Road to Hell'' is the fifth studio album recorded by Sunstorm featuring American singer Joe Lynn Turner, with production from Hardline's Italian multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Del Vecchio. It is the only album with Edo Sala on drums and the last to feature founding vocalist Turner. It was released via Frontiers Records on June 8, 2018 and it was preceded by the singles "Only The Good Will Survive" on April 16, 2018 and "The Road to Hell" on May 16, 2018. Sunstorm (band)
Sunstorm is an American AOR musical project, originally featuring lead vocalist Joe Lynn Turner (formerly of Rainbow), bassist/vocalist Dennis Ward, keyboardist Jochen Weyer, as well as guitarist Uwe Reitenauer and drummer Chris Schmidt, both members of the band Pink Cream 69. The albums also featured artists such as Dann Huff and Jim Peterik as additional songwriters. The first album called '' Sunstorm'' was released in 2006, followed in 2009 by their second album ''House of Dreams''. '' Emotional Fire'' is the third release, out in 2012. In 2016, it was announced that Joe Lynn Turner would record a new Sunstorm album, this time following a heavier sound, similar to another project of his called Rated X, but keeping the melodic side trademark of the project. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Soft rock is a form of rock music that originated in the late 1960s in Southern California and the United Kingdom which smoothed over the edges of singer-songwriter and pop rock, relying on simple, melodic songs with big, lush productions. Soft rock was prevalent on the radio throughout the 1970s and eventually metamorphosed into a form of the synthesized music of adult contemporary in the 1980s. Alessandro Del Vecchio (born 21 April 1979) is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and producer, best known for his collaborations with hard rock and heavy metal artists such as Jørn Lande, Revolution Saints, Hardline, Fergie Frederiksen, Ted Poley, Kelly Keeling and Mat Sinner, and for his work as the in-house producer for Neapolitan record label Frontiers Music SRL from his personal Ivorytears Music Works Studio located just north of Milan. ''Edge of Tomorrow'' is the fourth album by Sunstorm featuring singer Joe Lynn Turner. It was released on May 13, 2016 via Frontiers Records, four years after '' Emotional Fire'' in 2012. This is the first album with Italian multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Jorn, Edge of Forever) on producing, songwriting and keyboards and Italian musicians Simone Mularoni ( DGM) on guitars, Nik Marzucchoni (Labyrinth) on bass guitar and the only one to feature Francesco Jovino (Voodoo Circle, Jorn) on drums. Joe Lynn Turner
Joe Lynn Turner (born Joseph Arthur Mark Linquito, August 2, 1951) is an American singer known for his work in the hard rock bands Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Deep Purple. During his career, Turner fronted and played guitar with pop rock band Fandango in the late 1970s; and in the early 1980s, he became a member of Rainbow, fronting the band and writing songs with guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore and bassist, and producer, Roger Glover. After Rainbow had disbanded in March 1984, he pursued a solo career, released one album, Rescue You, and sang backing vocals for Billy Joel, Cher, and Michael Bolton along with radio and television jingles. He also collaborated with songwriters Desmond Child and Jack Ponti. Turner had a short-lived association with neoclassical metal guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and then Deep Purple.
