''The Road Hammers'' is the debut album of The Road Hammers, a Canadian-based country rock band fronted by singer Jason McCoy. Released in 2005 on Open Road Recordings, it produced the singles "I'm a Road Hammer", "East Bound and Down" (a cover of the Jerry Reed song), "Nashville Bound" and "Girl on the Billboard" (a cover of the Del Reeves song). Each of these songs reached Top Ten on the Canadian country music charts for The Road Hammers. The song "A Heart with Four-Wheel Drive" was previously recorded by 4 Runner on their self-titled album, and "The Hammer Going Down" by Chris Knight on his self-titled debut album. The Road Hammers
The Road Hammers are a Canadian country rock group composed of Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy and Chris Byrne. Formed by McCoy as a side project, the trio's music is influenced by 1960s and 1970s trucker music and Southern rock. Their first self-titled album included remakes of several classic truck-driving songs. It was recognized with a Juno Award in 2006, along with numerous Canadian Country Music Association awards. After five years together, the group went on hiatus after one last show on December 31, 2010, in Langley, British Columbia.The group reformed in 2013 and released ''Wheels'' in 2014. Michael Knox is an American music producer and artist manager. Biography The Macon, Georgia-born Knox, son of rock and roll singer Buddy Knox, is best known for discovering Jason Aldean and producing all of his albums. He helped Crossin Dixon sign to Broken Bow Records, the same label to which Aldean is signed, after a friend of his saw the band perform. John Rich (born January 7, 1974) is an American country music singer-songwriter. From 1992 to 1998, he was a member of the country music band Lonestar, in which he played bass guitar and alternated with Richie McDonald as lead vocalist.
