The Ring Virus
''The Ring Virus'' () is a 1999 South Korean horror film adapted from the Japanese novel ''Ring'' by Koji Suzuki. A joint project between Japan and Korea, this version has Park Eun-Suh as the creator of the cursed videotape. Although the filmmakers claimed that the film was adapted from the novel only, it differs from the novel in some ways that match the 1998 film ''Ring'' (also known as “Ringu” in the US), such as having a female lead character, and several scenes were directly copied, including some of the scenes on the videotape and the film's climax. This remake only exists because South Korea had a ban on Japanese cultural imports, preventing ''Ring'' from being released over there. A remake for the South Korean market had to be commissioned instead. Bae Doona (; born October 11, 1979; also credited as Doona Bae), is a South Korean actress and photographer. ''Ring'' ( ja, リング, Ringu), also known as ''The Ring'', is a Japanese horror media franchise, based on the novel series of the same name written by Koji Suzuki. Kim Chang-wan
Kim Chang Wan (born February 22, 1954) is a South Korean singer, composer, musician, actor, host, radio DJ and writer. Career Sanulrim Kim Chang-wan, along with his younger brothers Kim Chang-hoon and Kim Chang-ik, began composing music during their mid-teens, and formed the band Mui when they were college students. After Kim Chang-wan graduated in 1975 from Seoul National University (with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Studies, major in Natural Fiber), they went professional and changed their band's name to Sanulrim (meaning "Mountain Echo"). Sadako Yamamura
, also known as Park Eun-suh () and Samara Morgan, is the main antagonist of Koji Suzuki's ''Ring'' novel series and the film franchise of the same name.
