The Return Of Pom Pom
''The Return of Pom Pom'' (Chinese: 雙龍出海) is a 1984 Hong Kong comedy film directed by Philip Chan and starring Richard Ng and John Shum. It is the second film in the ''Pom Pom'' film series which is a spin-off the ''Lucky Stars'' series. Plot Having been together for years, police officer Beethoven (John Shum) must find a new place to live as his friend and fellow officer Ng Ah Chow (Richard Ng) is marrying his fiancée Anna (Deanie Yip). Furthermore, the two officers are transferred to a new department run by fearsome Inspector Tien (James Tin Chuen). While here their former boss inspector Chan (Philip Chan) is set up after evidence is stolen by "The Flying Spider" (Lam Ching-ying), the two officers must track down the thief to prove Chan's innocence. Philip Chan (actor)
Philip Chan Yan-kin (born 25 January 1945) is a Hong Kong actor, film director, producer, screenwriter and music composer of Taishan area origin. Career He worked as a Royal Hong Kong Police Force police inspector before entering the entertainment industry. His most memorable moment as a police inspector was during a press conference he held with members of Hong Kong's press at the scene of the 1974 Po Sang Bank robbery, which was one of the biggest bank robbery cases up until then in Hong Kong history. He resigned as a Superintendent of Police in 1976 to join Bang Bang Films as a Producer and simultaneously headed its Advertising Department, marketing the then very popular jeans and apparel brand-name in Hong Kong. Deanie Ip (born 25 December 1947) is a Hong Kong singer and actress. She has won the Hong Kong Film Awards once for Best Actress and three times for Best Supporting Actress. Deanie also won the Golden Horse Awards once for Best Leading Actress and twice for Best Supporting Actress; she also won a Coppa Volpi for the Best Actress at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. Richard Ng Yiu-hon (born 17 December 1939), also known as Richard Woo, is a Hong Kong actor known for playing comedic roles, particularly in Hong Kong films of the 1980s and 1990s. Lucky Stars
''Lucky Stars'' (or ''Five Lucky Stars''); () was a Hong Kong action comedy film series in the 1980s and 1990s, blending Chinese martial arts with bawdy comedy. The films featured an ensemble cast, with many of the actors appearing in successive films. The characters of the ''Five Lucky Stars'' were originally petty criminals recently out of prison, who started their own cleaning company.
