The Return (Shatner Novel)
''The Return'' is a novel by William Shatner that was co-written with Garfield Reeves-Stevens and Judith Reeves-Stevens. It is set in the ''Star Trek'' universe but, as part of the "Shatnerverse," does not follow the Timeline of Star Trek, timeline established by other ''Star Trek'' novels. The book's sequel is ''Avenger (Shatner novel), Avenger''. Plot summary The novel begins on the planet Veridian III and takes place shortly after the events seen in the motion picture ''Star Trek Generations''. The body of James T. Kirk is stolen by the Romulans after his burial by fellow Starfleet captain Jean-Luc Picard. The Borg have formed an alliance with the Romulan Star Empire in order to destroy the United Federation of Planets, Federation. William Shatner
William Shatner (born March 22, 1931) is a Canadian actor. In a career spanning seven decades, he is best known for his portrayal of James T. Kirk in the ''Star Trek'' franchise, from his 1965 debut as the captain of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), ''Enterprise'' in the Where No Man Has Gone Before, second pilot of the Star Trek: The Original Series, first ''Star Trek'' television series to his final appearance as Captain Kirk in the seventh ''Star Trek'' feature film, ''Star Trek Generations'' (1994). The Holodeck is a fictional device from the television franchise ''Star Trek'' which uses "holograms" (projected light and electromagnetic energy which create the illusion of solid objects) to create a realistic 3D simulation of a real or imaginary setting, in which participants can freely interact with the environment as well as objects and characters, and sometimes a predefined narrative. Dr. Leonard H. McCoy, known as "Bones", is a character in the American science-fiction franchise ''Star Trek''.
