The Reason (Lemar Album)
''The Reason'' is the fourth studio album by English soul/ R&B singer Lemar. The album was released on 24 November 2008, and contains the singles, " If She Knew" and " Weight of the World". Background Eighteen months after the release of his single, "Tick Tock", Lemar returned in November 2008 with ''The Reason'' and its lead single " If She Knew". The first single, "If She Knew", co-produced by SoulShock and Karlin, combined Lemar's heartfelt lyrics with layers of acoustic guitar. Lemar's signature balladry features on the album too, including the piano-driven "Mayday". He also ventures back to his soul roots with the infectious Over You and the funk-tinged uptempo "Little Miss Heartbreaker", produced by Jim Beanz. Lemar Obika (born 4 April 1978), known as Lemar, is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. Initially rising to fame after finishing third on the first series of British talent show ''Fame Academy'', he was later signed to Sony BMG, where he has gone on to release five studio albums, three of which are certified platinum or double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Lemar's double-platinum debut album '' Dedicated'' was released in November 2003 and contained the successful singles "Dance (With U)", " 50/50" and " Another Day", all of which charted in the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. His second effort, ''Time to Grow'', saw similar success, again achieving double platinum certification and spawning his most successful single, "If There's Any Justice", which peaked at number 3 and spent four months in the UK Singles Chart. James David Washington (born August 26, 1980), known professionally as Jim BEANZ, is an American vocal producer, songwriter, actor, singer and record producer from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is signed to Timbaland Productions and Sunset Entertainment Group. He began his career when he was an artist in the R&B group "Tresan", during which time he received mentorship from Dru Hill. In 2005, Beanz started working alongside Timbaland as a vocal producer. He co-wrote the winning entry of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, "Believe" by Dima Bilan. The Royal Albert Hall is a concert hall on the northern edge of South Kensington, London. Cambridge Corn Exchange
Cambridge Corn Exchange is a concert venue located in Cambridge, England with a capacity up to 1,681 people. Construction The site, on the corner of Wheeler Street and Corn Exchange Street, was earmarked for a new Corn Exchange in 1868 to replace the existing corn exchange on St Andrew's Hill to the east. In the Middle Ages the Priory of Friars Hermits was located on the site, the remains of which were passed to a museum in New Zealand. Designed by Cambridge architect Richard Reynolds Rowe in the Florentine Gothic style, the foundation stone was laid by the Mayor in 1874 and the building was opened in 1875. A quarter of a million local bricks were used in various colours. The opening concert was a performance on 9 November by the Coldstream Guards and a local choral society. Plymouth Pavilions
Plymouth Pavilions is an entertainment and sports complex in Plymouth, Devon, England. It has an ice rink and indoor arena. The arena is used as an entertainment venue and also for corporate hire. The Pavilions is built on the site of the former Millbay railway station that is directly opposite the Duke of Cornwall Hotel. The granite pillars which can be seen outside the main entrance were once the gate posts to the station. Ice rink and pool closure Plymouth Pavilions is one of the only indoor centres with an ice rink in Devon. New Theatre Oxford
New Theatre Oxford (formerly the Apollo Theatre Oxford and The Apollo, from 1977–2003) is the main commercial theatre in Oxford, England. It has a capacity of 1,785 people; is on George Street, in the centre of the city; and puts on a wide variety of shows, including musical theatre, stand-up comedy, and concerts. The first "New Theatre" on this site opened in 1836 and presented music hall entertainment. This was replaced in 1886 by new premises, which were the home of Oxford University Dramatic Society. The Brighton Centre
Brighton Centre is a conference and exhibition centre located in Brighton, England. It is the largest of its kind in southern England, and is regularly used for conferences of the British political parties and other bodies of national importance. Ipswich Regent Theatre (formerly known as the Gaumont Theatre) is a theatre and concert venue located at St Helen's Street in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Margate Winter Gardens
Margate is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent in south-east England.
