The Queen's Charities (Belgium)
The Queen's Charities (Dutch: ''Hulpfonds van de Koningin''; French: ''Oeuvres de la Reine'') is an organization intended to help the Queen of the Belgians in her philanthropic and social activities. In order to support the Queen, it collects information for her, and allocates the funds according to her instructions. When the Queen has a particular interest in an institution, the charity can participate in the creation or development of those institutions. Objectives # Aid to the needy and persons in cases of urgent necessity. # Aid to social projects in which the Queen is particularly interested. Philanthropy is a form of altruism that consists of "private initiatives, for the public good, focusing on quality of life". King Baudouin Foundation
The King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) ( nl, Koning Boudewijnstichting, KBS; french: Fondation Roi-Baudouin) is an independent, pluralistic foundation based in Brussels (Belgium). It seeks to change society for the better and invests in inspiring projects and individuals. The Foundation was set up in 1976, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of King Baudouin's reign and has been under the honorary Presidency of Queen Mathilde since 2015. The Foundation supports projects in Belgium and at the European and international level. To support its international goal, the KBF set up a US public charity and an office in New York City. Since 1999, the KBFUS facilitates philanthropy in the US, Europe and Africa. In 2017, KBFCanada was launched. Queen Paola Foundation
The Queen Paola Foundation, founded in December 1992, is a Belgian non-profit organization. The foundation was created at the request of Princess Paola of Belgium. The aim of the foundation is to provide support to Belgian organizations which help young people facing problems with re-integration into society, and to support education. The foundation has established the ''School of Hope programme'', in order to support schools located in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Queen Paola prize The ''Queen Paola prize'' to primary education was created in 1997 in order to reward teachers who added value to their profession. Since 1998, the prize is awarded annually, alternating between primary and secondary school teachers.
