"The Promise" is a song by American rock band In This Moment. It is the second promotional single released from their third studio album, ''A Star-Crossed Wasteland'', and first to go for radio adds. The song is a duet with Otherwise vocalist Adrian Patrick. The music video for the song premiered in late September 2010. Song meaning Background Originally, Brink had written the male vocal parts of the song for Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody. Due to record business issues, Moody was not able to lend his vocals to the track. Brink explains, "They (Five Finger Death Punch) would've had a single coming out at the same time as us, so it prevents problems business wise or whatever. herewas nothing we could do for it..." Producer Kevin Churko instead enlisted Adrian Patrick, who sang on the demo version of the song to appear on the final version. In This Moment
In This Moment is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005. They found drummer Jeff Fabb and started the band as Dying Star. Unhappy with their musical direction, they changed their name to In This Moment and gained two band members, guitarist Blake Bunzel and bassist Josh Newell. In 2005, bassist Newell left the band and was replaced by Jesse Landry. Their debut album, ''Beautiful Tragedy'', was released in 2007. Their follow up, titled '' The Dream'' was released the following year debuting at number 73 on the ''Billboard'' 200. "The Gun Show" is a song by American rock band In This Moment. It is the first promotional single released from their third studio album, ''A Star-Crossed Wasteland''. The song was released to iTunes on June 1, premiered on Sirius XM Radio Liquid Metal channel, and was also available for streaming on their Myspace page for 24 hours. A teaser trailer was released on May 19 containing a small snippet of the song. A few weeks later, a new trailer was released featuring an extended clip of the song and a first look at the music video. It was the official theme song of TNA Against All Odds 2011, and was later re-used by the promotion for their show Xplosion. Style "The Gun Show" represents the band's return to a heavier sound. The Mayhem Festival was a touring Heavy metal music, heavy metal festival that took place during the summer. The inaugural season took place in 2008; the festival later became an annual event across the United States. Most years also included a single date in either Montreal or Toronto, Canada. The tour had been sponsored by the Rockstar (drink), Rockstar Energy Company since the time of its inception. It was assembled by Warped Tour, Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and John Reese (who was Lyman's partner on the Taste of Chaos tour). Ivan L. Moody (born Ivan Lewis Greening on January 7, 1980) is an American singer and songwriter who is the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch (FFDP). He performed for several other bands including Motograter and Ghost Machine before joining FFDP. Moody was known by the pseudonym "Ghost" during his time with Motograter.
