The Supermen Lovers
The Supermen Lovers is the stage name of French electronic music producer Guillaume Atlan (; born 9 February 1975, Paris). Following his 2001 hit single "Starlight", Atlan was nominated at the French contest Victoires de la Musique in 2002, and at the 2001 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best French Artist. Biography Atlan was born in Paris. His mother was a social worker and his father was a doctor and the drummer of the music band Mose. At the age of 8, he started studying solfège piano at the Francis Poulenc conservatory. His training lasted eight years. He released his first electronic album on UK label Cyclo under the name of "School", a duet which he took up with Stéphane Bejean-Lebenson. The title track, "Ain't no Love" was remixed by Larry Heard in 1999. In 1999, Atlan opened his first label, Lafessé Records, starting to produce house music under the name of Stan de Mareuil. French House
French house, also known as French touch, filter house and tekfunk, is a style of house music originally produced by French musicians in the 1990s. Funky House
Funky house is a subgenre of house music that uses disco and funk samples, a funk-inspired bass line or a strong soul influence, combined with drum breaks that draw inspiration from 1970s and 1980s funk records. "Starlight" is the debut single of French house musician the Supermen Lovers (also known as Guillaume Atlan), featuring Mani Hoffman on lead vocals. The female vocals on the song were performed by Israeli singer-songwriter Nili. The song contains a sample of "The Rock" (1978) by disco assemblage East Coast.
