''The Passage'' is the ninth full-length studio album of Italian progressive metal band DGM. This is the third album with this line-up and it was released on August 26, 2016 for the first time by Italian label Frontiers Records. The album was produced by band guitarist Simone Mularoni. On June 13 ''Animal'' was released as its first single and on August 15 ''Fallen'' was released. Track listing All music written by Mark Basile and Simone Mularoni. DGM (band)
DGM ("Diego, Gianfranco and Maurizio", after the founding members) is an Italian progressive metal band. Over the course of the band's history, they have had numerous line-up changes, with none of the founding members in the band's current line up and eight previous members since 1994. Career Early career (1994–2000) Originally formed in 1994 as an all-instrumental, power metal outfit, Italy's DGM featured guitarist Diego Reali, keyboardist Maurizio Pariotti and drummer Gianfranco Tassella. In 1995 Luciano Regoli, formerly of Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno, soon joined as lead singer. Their first official release was in 1996, the self-produced mini CD ''Random Access Zone.'' In 1997 the band produced their first full-length album ''Change Direction'' the album was well received in Italy, Germany, Finland, and Denmark, which prompted them to start an Italian tour which resulted in a gain in popularity. Michael James Romeo (born March 6, 1968) is an American guitarist and a founding member of the progressive metal group Symphony X.
