Between The Sheets (The Isley Brothers Album)
''Between the Sheets'' is the 22nd album released by The Isley Brothers on their T-Neck imprint on April 24, 1983. The album is notable for the title track, the follow-up hit "Choosey Lover", and the ballad "Touch Me". The song also appeared in the 2007 comedy film, ''Norbit''. Background The Isley Brothers recorded songs for the album to react to disappointing sales of their albums, ''Inside You'' and '' The Real Deal'', albums that failed to sell and produced no hit singles. The group returned to Bearsville Studios in November 1982 to work on the album. Like previous albums, all the instrumentation and composition was handled by Chris Jasper, Ernie Isley and younger brother Marvin. Some songs were initially devised as songs for a splinter project the trio were working on. Eventually, however, lead singer Ronald Isley sought interest in a few of the tracks, including the title song, which was composed by the trio of Jasper and the younger Isley brothers in response to Marvin G ...

The Real Deal (Isley Brothers Album)
''The Real Deal'' is the 21st album released by The Isley Brothers on August 7, 1982. The album is notable for the group's decision to alter their trademark funk rock sound in the 1970s with the then-current early 1980s electro funk scene dominated by Rick James, Prince, Zapp and The Gap Band. Background Following the releases of two 1981 albums, the gold-selling '' Grand Slam'' and the lesser-successful ''Inside You'', the Isley Brothers were finding themselves in a rut following a successful nine-year run of gold and platinum albums and a succession of hit singles that had made them one of the top-selling R&B/funk bands of the 1970s. After hearing the sounds of the Gap Band and Rick James, The Isleys (Kelly, Rudy, Ron, Ernie and Marvin) and brother-in-law Chris Jasper, whose role in the Isleys had grown to the point where he was adding background vocals himself alongside longtime lead vocalist Ron Isley and also added in a vocoder co-lead while playing synthesizers, ...

Reception The title track was one of their notable hits in the beginning of the 1980s though it didn't return the Isley Brothers to their past glory. The older and younger Isleys, in the meantime, were arguing over the group's direction. Disagreements would eventually lead to an implosion in the ''3 + 3'' lineup. Winner Takes All (album)
''Winner Takes All'' is the seventeenth studio album by The Isley Brothers and their first and only double album, released on T-Neck Records on August 21, 1979. The album included the number-one R&B hit, " I Wanna Be With You" and the top 20 UK disco hit, " It's a Disco Night (Rock Don't Stop)". The album was remastered and expanded for inclusion in the 2015 released CD box set ''The RCA Victor & T-Neck Album Masters, 1959-1983''. Reception The album continued the brothers' trademark of mixing uptempo funk numbers with softer soul balladry. However, their sound now included elements of disco. While some of their music had pioneered the genre, ''Winner Takes All'' was the first album to embrace disco rhythms. The disco element helped songs such as "I Wanna Be With You" and "It's a Disco Night (Rock Don't Stop)" become hits. However, the band didn't release any ballads from the album, making it one of the few times since 1973 that they not released a ballad as a single. However ...
