The Officers' Quarterly
''The Officers' Quarters'' is a biannual publication of the Fredericton Region Museum. It began publication in 1985 as ''The Officers' Quarterly'', a newsletter published four times a year. Through the years the magazine grew in size, complexity and cost. In 1999 it was reconstituted as ''The Officers' Quarters'' and is published twice a year. The magazine publishes articles exploring the history and heritage of central New Brunswick, many written by members of the York Sunbury Historical Society, which operates the Fredericton Region Museum. It also provides news of the museum's holdings, exhibits, and special events as well as the activities of the Society and its members. Fredericton Region Museum
The Fredericton Region Museum, formerly known as the York Sunbury Museum, is a small, non-profit museum founded in 1934 by the York Sunbury Historical Society. The museum was housed in several different locations until 1959, when it moved into Officers' Square on Queen Street in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The Fredericton Region Museum focuses on preserving the history of the York and Sunbury region as well as central New Brunswick. The museum possesses a large and diverse collection of artefacts, displaying a 100-year-old cake, the Coleman Frog, Victorian gowns, and a 10,000-year-old Clovis Point. The museum contains more than ten exhibits, including displays on the Acadians, Loyalists, New Brunswick's Aboriginals, a First World War Trench, and more. Marc Milner
Joseph Marc Milner, (born 12 April 1954) is a Canadian military and naval historian, author of several books including one novel. He is Director of the Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society at the University of New Brunswick. Early life and education The son of William Clayton Milner and Rita Mary Legere Milner, he was born and raised in Sackville, New Brunswick, and attended Tantramar Regional High School from which he graduated in 1973. Going on to university, he graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977, and from the same university earned his Master of Arts degree in 1979 with a thesis on "Canadian escorts and the mid Atlantic 1942–1943". He earned his Ph.D. there in 1983, completing a doctoral dissertation titled "No higher purpose: the Royal Canadian Navy's mid-Atlantic war 1939–1944". Margaret Conrad
Margaret Rose Conrad (born 1946) is a Canadian historian specializing in the fields of Atlantic Canada and Women's history. She held the Canada Research Chair in Atlantic Canada Studies at the University of New Brunswick before retiring in 2009. Career Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Acadia University in 1967, a Master of Arts degree in 1968, and a Ph.D. in 1979 both from the University of Toronto. After a brief stint as an editor at Clarke, Irwin Publishing Company from 1968 to 1969, she joined the Department of History Acadia University in 1969. She was made a full professor in 1987 and was Head of Department from 1992 to 1995.
