The Nice House On The Lake
''The Nice House...'' is an horror comic book Anthology series, anthology series created by James Tynion IV and Álvaro Martínez Bueno, and published by DC Comics through their DC Black Label, Black Label imprint. It debuted with ''The Nice House on the Lake'' on June 1, 2021 and concluded on 27 December 2022. It focuses on the mysterious Walter, who invites twelve of his friends to an idyllic house in the countryside, only for them to witness the end of the world and be told they are no longer allowed to leave. The series received critical acclaim, winning four Eisner Awards including the 2022 award for Best New Series. Horror is a genre of fiction which is intended to frighten, scare, or disgust. Horror is often divided into the sub-genres of psychological horror and supernatural horror, which is in the realm of speculative fiction. Literary historian J. A. Cuddon, in 1984, defined the horror story as "a piece of fiction in prose of variable length... which shocks, or even frightens the reader, or perhaps induces a feeling of repulsion or loathing". Horror comics are comic books, graphic novels, black-and-white comics magazines, and manga focusing on horror fiction.
