The Monkey's Paw (2013 Film)
''The Monkey's Paw'' is a 2013 American horror film based on the 1902 short story by author W. W. Jacobs. The film revolves around Jake Tilton, who receives a mysterious monkey's paw talisman that grants him three wishes. The film was directed by Brett Simmons, written by Macon Blair, and produced by Ross Otterman for TMP Films. It is a Chiller Films presentation. The film was released in theaters and video on demand on October 8, 2013. Plot Jake Tilton (C. J. Thomason) is a working stiff down on his luck. He is still in love with his ex-wife Olivia, though she has remarried to his boss. Further, his mom is dying of cancer. Macon Blair (born 1974) is an American actor, screenwriter, director, film producer, and comic book writer known for his roles in the films ''Blue Ruin'' and ''Green Room'', as well as his directorial debut ''I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore''. Life and career Blair was born in Alexandria, Virginia and began working with his childhood friend Jeremy Saulnier in 2007 on the film ''Murder Party''. In 2013, he played Dwight Evans in the critically acclaimed film ''Blue Ruin''. In 2015, he starred in Saulnier's film ''Green Room''.
