Casey Jones (band)
Casey Jones was a straight edge hardcore punk band from Jacksonville, Florida. The band consisted of members from Evergreen Terrace and Anchors Away and was signed to Eulogy Records. They released three albums and a split 7-inch History Casey Jones formed in early 2003 as a side project of Evergreen Terrace. The band's name is taken from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character Casey Jones. The band was originally started by Josh James of Evergreen Terrace, his brother Caleb, and Josh Smith (former member of Evergreen Terrace). Shortly after forming, the band wrote several songs and recorded a five-song demo entitled ''Are Some Crucial Dudes''. Not long after this, the band recorded their first full-length '' The Few, The Proud, The Crucial'' which was released on Indianola Records. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. Eulogy Recordings
Eulogy Recordings is an American independent record label established in early 1997 by hardcore guitarist John Wylie. The record company was founded in Cooper City, Florida but its headquarters moved around in various parts of Broward County, Florida. Since its buy-out in 2018, it has been based in Atlanta, Georgia. The label releases heavy metal and hardcore bands, some of which are straight edge. Among the label's better-known signings were Set Your Goals and New Found Glory. The first band signed to Eulogy Recordings in April 1997 was Bird of Ill Omen, which featured several members of Wylie's band Morning Again in its line-up. In 1999, Ian Rowan became a partner in Eulogy Recordings and later Hand of Hope Records. Eulogy Recordings also financed releases by its imprint label, Hand of Hope Records. John Luther "Casey" Jones (March 14, 1863 – April 30, 1900) was an American railroader who was killed when his passenger train collided with a stalled freight train at Vaughan, Mississippi. Jones was a locomotive engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad, based in Memphis, Tennessee, and Jackson, Mississippi. He was noted for his exceptionally punctual schedules, which sometimes required a degree of risk, though this was not a factor on his fatal last journey. However, there is some disagreement about the sequence of events on that night, April 29–30, 1900. He was due to run the southbound passenger service from Memphis to Canton, Mississippi, departing 11:35pm. Owing to the absence of another engineer, he had to take over another service through the day, which may have deprived him of sleep.
