The Maybes
The Maybes? were an England, English indie rock band from Liverpool. The group was made up of four principal members: Nick Ellis, Lee Smith, Timo Tierney and Dominic Allen. They had been performing since 2002, and in early 2006 they were signed to Xtra Mile Recordings. The band disbanded in 2009. Background All the members of the band are from the Anfield (suburb), Anfield and Kensington, Liverpool, Kensington districts of Liverpool, and were close friends before the band started. They attended Liverpool Community College. They have been performing gigs since 2002, supporting other bands as well as their own shows. They are well known in Liverpool for their band name being spray painted in many places. In 2006, The Maybes? signed their first deal with London-based record label, Xtra Mile Recordings. Boys (The Maybes? Song)
"Boys" is the second single released by The Maybes? from their debut album, ''Promise (The Maybes? album), Promise''. It was released on 16 June 2008 on Xtra Mile Recordings and a music video was filmed for the single. Music video The video for Boys was filmed on 26 April 2008 at Nation, Liverpool during the first date of The Maybes?'s club event ''"Sonic Temple"''. The video will be part of a documentary recorded by the band for the European Capital of Culture year in Liverpool. Reading And Leeds Festival
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Isle Of Wight Festival 2008
The Isle Of Wight Festival 2008 was the seventh revived Isle of Wight Festival held at Seaclose Park in Newport on the Isle Of Wight. The event took place between 13 June – 15 June 2008. Tickets went on sale in December 2007 and were sold out within weeks. This year was the first time that the festival was screened live on TV. After four years of highlights packages being broadcast on Channel 4, this year ITV announced that they had won the rights to broadcast live on ITV2. Cream (nightclub)
Cream is a nightclub that originally began as a weekly house music night at the now-demolished Nation nightclub in Liverpool. It ran in this format from October 1992 to June 2002. Cream also hosts the dance music festival Creamfields every August in Daresbury, Cheshire. Creamfields has won the award for Best Dance Event at the UK Festival Awards a record six times since the awards began 10 years ago, most recently in December 2014. In 2010, they also won the Music Week award for "Festival of the Year". In 2012, Live Nation acquired the Cream brand. Cream's home in Wolstenholme Square, Liverpool was demolished in 2016 as part of an urban regeneration project. Knowsley Hall Music Festival
Knowsley Hall Music Festival is a music festival based at Knowsley Hall in Merseyside, near Liverpool. It is commonly abbreviated to 'KHMF' or 'Knowsley'. It was created by the CEO of Cream and Creamfields, James Barton, and Lord Edward Stanley the Lord of the Manor for Knowsley Hall. The first festival was in 2007 and the headline acts were The Who and Keane. Beginnings James Barton of Cream wanted to create a rock music festival in the North West to rival that of the other great festivals across Britain after the success of his Creamfields dance music festival. The event was co-produced by Cream and festival management firm Loud Sound, which already organises Creamfields, the Isle of Wight’s Bestival and RockNess in Scotland. Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), formerly known as the Liverpool Mathew Street Music Festival, is an event held annually at Sefton Park in Liverpool.
