The Matchmaker (2018 Film)
''The Matchmaker'' is a 2018 short drama film directed by Leonora Pitts. Synopsis Sam is concerned that Flora, his elderly mother, is not getting the mental stimulation she needs to stave off dementia. When she moved into a retirement community, he decides to find her an ideal best friend to talk to, and keep her mind occupied. His entry into the lives of various residents in the community has unexpected results - some funny, and some heartbreaking. Sy Rosen
Sy Rosen is an American producer and screenwriter. He served as one of the creators of the American sitcom television series ''Gimme a Break!'', which he created with Mort Lachman. Career Rosen started his career in 1976, first writing a few episodes for the television series ''The Bob Newhart Show''. He also served in the army and graduated from college, in 1969. In 1980s-2000s, Rosen produced and wrote many shows, including, ''Taxi'', ''The Wonder Years'', '' Maude'', ''M*A*S*H'', ''The Jeffersons'', ''Rhoda'', '' Sister, Sister'', ''Throb'', ''My Two Dads'' and '' Sanford''. Barbara Bain (born Mildred Fogel; September 13, 1931) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Cinnamon Carter on the action television series '' Mission: Impossible'' (1966–1969), which earned her three Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as a Golden Globe Award nomination. She also starred as Dr. Helena Russell on the British-Italian coproduction science fiction television series '' Space: 1999'' (1975–1977). The Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) is an American film festival held annually in Bentonville, Arkansas that focuses on diversity. Foundation Bentonville Film Festival was founded by actress Geena Davis and ARC Entertainment executive Trevor Drinkwater. Bentonville was chosen as the location after Walmart, the founding sponsor, suggested it. After Drinkwater learned Walmart was interested in supporting diversity initiatives, he brought in Davis, who he knew would be interested because of her work with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. The BFF is the only film festival in the world to offer guaranteed multi-platform distribution to its winners. ReelAbilities is the United States' largest film festival dedicated to showcasing films by, or about, people with disabilities. It was founded by JCC Manhattan in New York City in 2007. Overview The Festival's Co-directors are Isaac Zablocki and Ravit Turjeman. ReelAbilities strives to make the festival as fully accessible as possible. In 2012, it screened films in 23 locations in all five of New York City's boroughs. All films screened by the Festival are captioned.
