The Man From Glengarry
''The Man from Glengarry'' is a 1922 American-Canadian silent drama film directed by Henry MacRae and starring Anders Randolf, Warner Richmond, and Pauline Garon. It is based on the 1901 novel of the same title by Ralph Connor. The film was distributed in the United States by W.W. Hodkinson in 1923. It was one of three silent films directed by MacRae based on the works of Connor. Henry MacRae
Henry Alexander MacRae (August 29, 1876 – October 2, 1944) was a Canadian film director, producer, and screenwriter during the silent era, working on many film serials for Universal Studios. One of a number of Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood, MacRae was credited with many innovations in film production, including artificial light for interiors, the wind machine, double exposures and shooting at night. Biography Henry MacRae was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 29, 1876, and died in Beverly Hills, California, United States on October 2, 1944, aged 68. He was active as a director from 1912 to 1933, making more than 130 films, most of them silent. In addition to the many westerns and adventure films to his credit, he directed the first Thai- Hollywood co-production, '' Miss Suwanna of Siam'', in 1923. Jack Newton (actor)
Jack Newton OAM (30 January 1950 – 14 April 2022) was an Australian professional golfer. He won the Buick-Goodwrench Open on the PGA Tour and won three times on the European Tour, including the British PGA Matchplay Championship in 1974. He won the Australia Open in 1979 and a number of other tournaments in Australia, New Zealand and Africa. Twice, he was a runner-up in major championships, losing the 1975 Open Championship, in a playoff against Tom Watson, and the 1980 Masters Tournament, where he finished four strokes behind the winner, Seve Ballesteros. In 1983 Newton had a near-fatal accident when he walked into the spinning propeller of an airplane, losing his right arm and eye. Golf career Newton was born in Cessnock, New South Wales.
