Danny Dare (March 20, 1905, New York City – November 20, 1996, Tarzana, Los Angeles, California) was an American choreographer, actor, director, writer, and producer of the stage, screen, and film.Obituaries in the Performing Arts, 1996: Film, Television, Radio, Theatre By Harris M. Lentz, Page 54 Career Dare began his career in the 1920s as an actor on the New York stage, making his Broadway theatre debut in 1923 in the musical ''Dew Drop Inn''. In 1927 he portrayed Ronnie Webb in the musical ''The Five O'Clock Girl'', also serving as the show's assistant choreographer. Leora Thatcher (May 12, 1894 – March 5, 1984) was an American actress on stage, film, and television, and a teacher. Early years Thatcher was born in Logan, Utah, on May 12, 1894, the daughter of Sarah Catherine Hopkins and Moses Thatcher, Jr. She had a brother and two sisters. She attended Brigham Young College, Utah State Agricultural College, and the University of Utah (UU), from which she graduated in 1921. At UU, she studied speech and theater under Maud May Babcock. She taught speech at Logan High School for two years before she became an actress. Career Thatcher's career began with her acting with the KSL Players in Utah. She joined the Moroni Olsen Players in 1923 and spent eight years performing with that touring repertory company. Edmund Joseph Flaherty (March 8, 1897 – December 2, 1970) was an American film actor who appeared in about 200 films. Biography Early life Flaherty was born Edmund Joseph Flaherty in Washington, D.C.; the son of Mary Rose Ella (née Wilson) and Michael Joseph Flaherty. He was the older brother of writer Vincent X. Oscar O'Shea (8 October 1881 – 6 April 1960) was a Canadian-American character actor with over 100 film appearances from 1937 to 1953. Early years O'Shea was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Acting O'Shea was a comic actor who earned a million dollars but lost it all in the Great Depression. His first straight role came in a Federal Theatre Project production of ''It Can't Happen Here'', a play based on the novel of the same name. O'Shea's first film was ''Captains Courageous'' (1937). Management Beginning in 1929, O'Shea operated the Oscar O'Shea Players repertory theater company in the Embassy Theatre in Ottawa, Canada. He eventually ended the enterprise "to seek a field where his art would be more widely appreciated."
