Jack Harvey (actor And Director)
Jack Harvey (born John Joseph Harvey; September 16, 1881 – November 9, 1954) was an American film actor, director and screenwriter, noted for his short films of the silent period. Among his directed films are ''A Dog's Love'' (1914) (the first of many collaborations with Shep, a well-trained Collie of the Thanhouser Company), ''When Fate Rebelled'' (1915), '' Fairy Fern Seed'' (1915), '' Kaiser's Finish'' (1918) and his last film ''No Babies Wanted'' (1928), accredited as John J. Harvey. He continued to act, but most of his roles after the 1920s were very minor and uncredited in films such as ''Cardinal Richelieu'' (1935) and ''Anchors Aweigh'' (1945). He also continued to write for films until his death in 1954, the last of which was '' City Beneath the Sea'' (1953). Meredith Nicholson (December 9, 1866 – December 21, 1947) was a best-selling author from Indiana, United States, a politician, and a diplomat. Biography Nicholson was born on December 9, 1866, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to Edward Willis Nicholson and the former Emily Meredith. Largely self-taught, Nicholson began a newspaper career in 1884 at the ''Indianapolis Sentinel.'' He moved to the ''Indianapolis News'' the following year, where he remained until 1897. He wrote ''Short Flights'' in 1891, and continued to publish extensively, both poetry and prose until 1928. During the first quarter of the 20th century, Nicholson, along with Booth Tarkington, George Ade, and James Whitcomb Riley helped to create a Golden Age of literature in Indiana. Cyril Scott (February 9, 1866 – August 16, 1945) was an Irish-born stage and film actor who spent most of his career in the United States. Long on the stage, Scott first appeared on stage in the U.S. at Paterson, New Jersey and later appeared in the companies of Mrs. Fiske, Lotta Crabtree and Richard Mansfield. In 1900 he appeared in ''The Casino Girl'' and was in musicals with De Wolf Hopper. He entered silent films in 1913, appearing in Augustus Thomas's film adaptation of his play '' Arizona''. He appeared in only a handful of movies before his last in 1932. He was a member of both the Lambs and Players Clubs. Scott was born in Banbridge, County Down, Ireland, and died in Flushing, Queens, New York City. He was married to comedic actress Louise Eissing until her death by suicide in 1921. Mathilde Brundage (September 22, 1859 – May 6, 1939) was an American actress. She appeared in 87 films between 1914 and 1928. Also known as Bertha Brundage, she was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
