It was written and recorded by Elizabeth Parker at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It was reissued by Silva Screen on CD and digital download 12 August 2016 and on pearl-coloured vinyl LP on 26 August 2016. 	Elizabeth Parker (composer) Elizabeth Parker is a British film and television composer who worked at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop from 1978 until the workshop's closure. Biography Parker graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in music, after which she completed a Masters in electronic music. When she first started working at the BBC she was training to become a studio manager. Later, she joined the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The BBC Radiophonic Workshop became redundant in the 1990s as electronic music equipment became cheaper, and the workshop was ultimately shut down in 1998. Parker worked at the workshop "right until the very end". In the final years, the BBC could not justify the expense of upgrading the workshop's equiment, leading Parker to describe the obsolete workshop in its final days as "horrendous" and "horrible". picture info	BBC Radiophonic Workshop The BBC Radiophonic Workshop was one of the sound effects units of the BBC, created in 1958 to produce incidental sounds and new music for radio and, later, television. The unit is known for its experimental and pioneering work in electronic music and music technology, as well as its popular scores for programmes such as ''Doctor Who'' and '' Quatermass and the Pit'' during the 1950s and 1960s. The original Radiophonic Workshop was based in the BBC's Maida Vale Studios in Delaware Road, Maida Vale, London. The Workshop was closed in March 1998, although much of its traditional work had already been outsourced by 1995. 	The Soundhouse ''The Soundhouse'' is a 1983 compilation released by BBC Records of music from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It featured music composed at the Workshop in the period since the previous compilation, '' BBC Radiophonic Workshop - 21''. During the gap between releases, many advances had been made in the use of computer technology to produce electronic music and this was reflected on the compilation with much of the material having been performed using the Fairlight CMI, the first digital sampling synthesiser. The album included two tracks by Paddy Kingsland used in the television version of ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'', three electronic realisations of classical compositions and an original collaboration featuring five of the Radiophonic Workshop members entitled "Radiophonic Rock". 	The Living Planet ''The Living Planet: A Portrait of the Earth'' is a BBC nature documentary series written and presented by David Attenborough, first transmitted in the UK from 19 January 1984. The sequel to his pioneering ''Life on Earth'', it is a study of the ways in which living organisms, including humans, adapt to their surroundings. Each of the twelve 55-minute episodes (one fewer than his previous series) featured a different environment. The executive producer was Richard Brock and the music was composed by Elizabeth Parker of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Part of David Attenborough's 'Life' series, it was followed by ''The Trials of Life'' (1990).
