Lacey Percival (11 February 1885 - 7 August 1968) was an Australian cinematographer who worked on many early Australian silent films. He worked for the Australian Photo-Play Company then joined West's Pictures. When that company merged with Australasian Films he ran their weekly newsreel, ''Australasian Gazette'' until 1925. John Faulkner (13 July 1872 – 13 September 1934) was a British-Australian inventor and actor of theatre and film. He appeared in two early vehicles for sports star Snowy Baker, '' The Enemy Within'' (1918), and '' The Lure of the Bush'' (1918), as well as movies from directors Raymond Longford, Franklyn Barrett, Paulette McDonagh, and Beaumont Smith. Biography Early life Faulkner was born in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, England, the 5th of ten children. He was a descendant of Warren Hastings, the first Governor General of Bengal. Chillagoe is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, Australia. In the the locality of Chillagoe had a population of 251 people. It was once a thriving mining town for a range of minerals, but is now reduced to a small zinc mine and some marble quarries. Just out of town is the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park containing limestone caves. There are between 600 and 1,000 caves in the Chillagoe-Mungana area. The caves, the spectacular karst landscape and the mining and smelting history are the main tourist attractions to the region.
