"The Kids Aren't Alright" is a song by the Offspring. It is the fifth track from the band's fifth studio album, '' Americana'' (1998), and was released as its third single. It became another top 10 hit on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song was played over the end credits of '' Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage''. The song was used in the opening scene of the film ''The Faculty'' and appears on the soundtrack album. It is also available as downloadable content for the ''Rock Band'' video game series. '' Q'' reported that the song's title is an allusion to the Who song " The Kids Are Alright" (from ''My Generation''). The Offspring
The Offspring is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Garden Grove, California, in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band currently consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland, Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Noodles (musician), Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy, and drummer Brandon Pertzborn. Kevin John Wasserman (born February 4, 1963) better known as Noodles, is an American musician who serves as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the Offspring. He earned the nickname "Noodles" for his frequent ''noodling'' ( improvising) on the guitar. Career Before joining the Offspring, Noodles played in a local band called Clowns of Death along with some friends, including drummer James Lilja. Lilja got recruited by Dexter Holland to join his band Manic Subsidal, on an agreement that Lilja would play in Manic Subsidal, if Holland joined Lilja's band Clowns of Death. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Meols, Merseyside in 1978 by Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals). "Electricity" is the 1979 debut single by English electronic band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), featured on their eponymous debut album the following year. Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys sing the lead vocals on the track together in unison, although Humphreys is positioned higher in the mix. Recognised as one of the most influential singles of its era, "Electricity" was integral to the rise of the UK's synth-pop movement. It has garnered praise from music journalists and other recording artists.
