The Journey (2014 Malaysian Film)
''The Journey'' (一路有你 or Yī lù yǒu nǐ) is a 2014 Malaysian Chinese-language comedy-drama film directed by Chiu Keng Guan and written by Ryon Lee. The film stars Ben Andrew Pfeiffer, Lee Sai Peng and Joanne Yew Hong Im. The story follows a father that finally allows his daughter to wed an English lad with a condition that he shall follow him on a journey around the nation to deliver their wedding invitation. ''The Journey'' was also invited to be screened at the 16th Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy. ''The Journey'' won four awards from six nominations on 27th Malaysian Film Festival (including Best non-Malay language film). Chiu Keng Guan
Chiu Keng Guan (; Chinese: 周青元; ; pinyin: Zhōu Qīng Yuán) is a Malaysian film director. Career Born and raised in Batu Pahat, Johor, Chiu initially studied graphic design and then fine arts, and worked on ceramic and sculpture production before joining HVD Film Production, doing quality assurance. Chiu then attended the Beijing Film Academy - which in recent times produced Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige. Since then, he did TV dramas, commercials, corporate videos, and also worked as an assistant director and cameraman. He was also part of the pioneering group that helped set up 8TV, and freelanced for Astro. Chiu emerged in the local movie scene with Astro and its movie production arm, Astro Shaw, in directing his acclaimed family-oriented Lunar New Year Trilogy of ''WooHoo!'' Cinema Of Malaysia
The cinema of Malaysia consists of feature films produced in Malaysia, shot in the languages Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, various indigenous languages, and English. Malaysia produces about 60 feature films annually, and between 300–400 television dramas and serials a year apart from the in-house productions by the individual television stations. The country also holds its own annual national level film awards, known as the Malaysia Film Festival. There are about 150 cinemas and cineplexes in Malaysia, showing not only local films but also foreign films. Malaysian Book Of Records
The Malaysia Book of Records (or MBR) is a Malaysian project to publish records set or broken by Malaysians. The project complements Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad's ' Malaysia Boleh!' (''Malaysia Can!'' in English) campaign. As with the Guinness World Records, there is an annually published book listing the records. Aims The MBR is a project formed in line with the peoples Vision 2020. Realising that feats and record attempts were not recorded, Datuk Danny Ooi, (founder of The Malaysia Book of Records) felt that recognition should be given to record achievements by Malaysians. As the National Record-Keeper, MBR is an official body that recognises record-holders, record-breakers, and record creators in the country. ''Polis EVO'' is a 2015 Malaysian buddy cop action comedy film directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar and written by Joel Soh, Kyle Goonting, Anwari Ashraf and Adib Zaini. ''KL Gangster'' is a 2011 Malaysian action film written and directed by Syamsul Yusof, (who also starred in the film). The film stars Aaron Aziz, Adi Putra, Soffi Jikan and Zizan Razak. ''KL Gangster'' follows Malek (Aziz) who is a former gangster fresh out of prison, wanting to change his life.
