The Isohels
The Isohels were an Irish five piece alternative rock band from Naas, Ireland, formed in 2004 by Claire Nicole Prendergast and Sadhbh O'Sullivan. A short time after the band began to take shape with the addition of Sal Healy on keys and Gill Prenderville on guitar. The band released their first single "Better" in November 2005 which saw them get the attention of various industry folk and music lovers both in their native Ireland and overseas. In June 2008, their debut album ''Kooramock'' was released, but the launch was to be their last live show. Biography The band began in 2004 with Claire Nicole Prendergast (vocals & bass) and Sadhbh O'Sullivan (lead guitar). Sal Healy (keyboard) and Gill Prenderville (guitar) joined in early 2005. They played their first show at the Béaltaine Festival 2005 Newbridge Ireland. Drummers Gavin Elsted and Brian Farrel played with the band. Naas
Naas ( ; ga, Nás na Ríogh or ) is the county town of County Kildare in Ireland. In 2016, it had a population of 21,393, making it the second largest town in County Kildare after Newbridge. History The name of Naas has been recorded in three forms in Irish: , translating as 'Place of Assembly of the Kings'; , translating to 'the Place of Assembly'; and , translating to 'Place of assembly of the Leinster Men'. In the Middle Ages, Naas became a walled market town and was occasionally raided by the O'Byrne and O'Toole clans from the nearby area which became County Wicklow. Naas features on the 1598 map by Abraham Ortelius as ''Nosse''. A mayor and council were selected by local merchants and landowners. Kooba Radio
Kooba Radio was an independent, non-profit, Internet-based radio station focused on alternative rock, playing unsigned bands and artists with independent record labels. Kooba is PRS (Performing Right Society) registered and played to a listenership in over 20 countries. Created 21 December 2002, Kooba Radio began was principally based in South East London. Starting initially with founders Jon Chappell (Jonny Yeah), Alex Malloy (The Boy Malloy) and She Who Must Not Be Named, the main ethos behind the station was "if you've signed, you've sold out" with a strong impetus towards the promotion of promising bands hitherto ignored by major record labels. This slogan was abandoned when it became prevalent that bands would release their music on their own labels. Whelan's is a pub and music venue in Dublin, Ireland. Phantom Fm
TXFM (formerly Phantom 105.2) was a Dublin based radio station, founded in 1997 as a pirate radio station. TXFM broadcast under a contract awarded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI). The station ceased broadcasting on 26 October 2016. TXFM played mostly alternative rock with an emphasis on local artists, as well as alternative dance and hip-hop from local and international acts.
