The Hornet's Nest (1955 Film)
''The Hornet's Nest'' is a 1955 British crime comedy film directed by Charles Saunders (director), Charles Saunders and starring Paul Carpenter (actor), Paul Carpenter, June Thorburn, and Marla Landi. It was released in May 1955. Plot Thief Posh Peterson hides his loot of £20,000 worth of jewels under the floor boards of an abandoned scow (named ''The Hornet's Nest'') moored in London's Chelsea Embankment, but he is captured and thrown in jail after assaulting someone. Two young models, Pat and Terry, rent the vessel as a houseboat#United Kingdom, houseboat through Bob Bartlett, a friendly local salvage dealer acting as an intermediary for the rental agency. Upon his release, Posh and his accomplices, headed by Mr Arnold, attempt to recover the loot, but it is no longer under the floor boards. ''The Hornet's Nest'' is a 2014 American documentary film about the Afghanistan war, directed by David Salzberg and Christian Tureaud. Christine Silver (17 December 1883 – 23 November 1960) was a British stage, film and television actress, and a playwright. Early life Christine Isie Silver was born in 1883 (some sources give 1884), in London, the daughter of Arthur Silver and Isabella Charlotte Walenn Silver. Her father was a textile designer. Colin Douglas (actor)
Colin Martin Douglas (28 July 1912 – 21 December 1991) was an English actor. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, Douglas was educated at the Farm School in Cumberland. Following his elder brother Jock, he emigrated to New Zealand when he was sixteen, working in sheep farming and lumberjacking, but only stayed for five years before auditioning to study at RADA, after begging his father to let him return to try to become an actor. He did some time in repertory, but the Second World War halted his career. In the armed forces he went to Catterick and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, became Captain and Adjutant in the Border Regiment, and served in the 1st Airborne Division. During the Allied invasion of Sicily his glider, like many others, was released too early, and the crew were in the sea for two days (many members of other crews perished).
